Global Data Science Insight Strategy Director Bloomberg LP New York

If you are an entrepreneurial data advocate passionate about using data for fun and exciting projects that also drive revenue- join Bloomberg’s Data Science and Insights team within the Media department. You will play a key role in the advancement of our customer-centric and data driven decision making through the delivery of meaningful audience, brand and Bloomberg insights. Powered by data and analytics, you will inform solutions for clients campaigns, content, and programs to drive KPIs.
In this critical role for Bloomberg, you will partner with our ad sales and marketing services groups to bring insights and thought leadership to clients and the industry. You will perform in-depth analysis of first and third party audience data as well as performance, and distill those key themes into client presentations. The individual in this role will contribute to high-level strategy and decision-making as well as impact the day-to-day revenue-generating divisions by providing exceptional analysis, insight and intelligence. You will be expected to stay informed on industry trends around targeting, ROI, engagement and advertising measurement, including attending conferences, meeting with industry leaders and vendors within the space. You will be empowered to employ innovative thinking in your approach to analyzing and presenting data and delivering engagement metrics for clients.
We’ll trust you to:

Overall

Build rich customer profiles and targeting strategies. Identify strategic audience solutions for clients in media sales and marketing services, by leveraging existing data resources as well as identifying new internal and external data resources
Lead strategic development in outer markets, using first and third party data resources including syndicated studies
Analyze data and translate findings into insights and actionable recommendations, integrating relevant brand business knowledge into actionable recommendations
Identify and champion projects to introduce relevant new sources of data for deeper insights
Project Management

Manage projects (client-facing & internal) from start to finish – facilitating appropriate level of clarity and communication, with back end engineers and front end sales/marketing/clients
Product:

Project manage continued development and roll out of a proprietary artificial intelligence tool working with internal team and engineers in Europe
Train teams globally on functionality, usage, and application
Build upon existing suite of products, by partnering with internal and external resources
Brainstorm new products – Terminal functions, data-science driven ad products (image mining, video mining, AI, etc)
Analytics:

Develop and standardize reporting, benchmarks, and success metrics across
Consultant to agency/end clients on how to leverage data and build custom solutions
Work with senior leadership on business models for existing and new products
Develop an ROI tracking system for all efforts coming from data science
Operational

Manage communication between outside data vendors/partners
Assist in communication with internal R&D/engineers on any product development issues
You’ll need to have:

At least 7+ years of experience in relevant insights, strategy and data analytics including mining and analyzing online/offline/third party data to understand customer behavior, provide actionable insights and strategies, and measurement
Significant analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated ability to look comprehensively across quantitative and qualitative data sources to develop actionable insights for clients and sales team
Ability to analyze data and effectively communicate insights in written and verbal format
Prior significant digital experience
Strong proficiency in excel, some experience using Telmar/IMS/Media planning software
Strong industry relationships within the digital, data and analytics space
Ad ops background and/or marketing experience is a plus
Deep knowledge and passion for digital advertising ecosystem, in particular display, native and audience data advertising
Strong project management or organizational skills
B.A./B.S. degree required
We’d love to see familiarity with:

Experience using analytic tools such as SAS, SQL, media planning tools such as Telmar/IMS, MOAT, DFP
Familiarity with Bloomberg media properties
