The role will lead this specialist function in support of several key existing client relationships and be able to grow the practice.
General Description:
• Primary lead, overseeing account service across current sports & entertainment engagements on existing clients. In this client-facing role, the candidate must demonstrate collaboration and expertise in the S&E field and to the greater agency.
• Ideal candidate is a passionate and enthusiastic self-starter who is “hands on” and has negotiated and managed deals inclusive of media, rights and on-site signage, experiential campaign assets and hospitality management, and has confidence doing so.
• Must have sports experience on either the agency or publisher side and ideal candidate also possesses other diverse entertainment experience.
• Candidate must be prepared to discuss a track record of innovative and creative thinking in communications.

Duties:
• Responsible for growth and profitability of assigned account(s), including development of staffing plans, scopes of work and overseeing delivery of client scope of work.
• Primary point to troubleshoot and resolve conflicts with senior clients and team members bringing in senior leadership, as appropriate
• Establishes and implements strategic platforms to address client marketing objectives
• Facilitates agency, industry and/or account specific training for team and client.
• Sets clear outline and process for team’s development of activation programs to support strategic plans
• Leads all phases of partnership negotiations (negotiation approach, deal points development, rights management issues, on-site assets, contract review) with clients and partners
• Able to set direction and objectives for team to develop POV documents, detailed valuations (using quantitative and qualitative industry metrics) and thought pieces to support client requests and / or support project development
• Develops and delivers compelling client and new business presentations, managing more junior team members in early development phase
• Takes an active and meaningful approach to developing and training team members
• Presents Maxus S&E strategic vision and creds within industry, client forums and business development settings
• Supports senior leadership in business development initiatives
• Actively contributes to the Maxus culture
Experience and Credentials:
• Excellent and commanding presence
• On average, 8+ years of progressive client service experience, with 3+ years agency or relevant industry experience and 3+ years of supervisory experience
• Has previous experience successfully leading multi-disciplinary teams and/or multiple individuals
• Exceptional client management skills
• Demonstrates strong leadership and people management skills (both internal & external)
• Effectively manages up & down, across supervisors & subordinates
• Recognized as a collaborative strategist across core constituents (client, partners, internal, etc.)
• Successful negotiator across varied partnerships (sponsorships, talent, promotional, etc.)
• Established reputation across industry
• Proven success in new business and business development settings.
