We are seeking a communications professional with expertise in product communications and advocacy communications, corporate reputation in both the biopharmaceutical and consumer/ professional healthcare market to offer strategic communications counsel on Sanofi’s vaccines business. The candidate should be able to offer issues management counsel, have a solid understanding of social/digital media, media relations, disease awareness and message development, FDA approvals and product launches.
The Director, US Product Communications, is responsible for external communications for a number of brands in the vaccine space, including pediatric and travel vaccines, and some vaccine advocacy communications. This position is responsible for US communications/public relations and the results of those efforts, including media strategy, programming, issues management, PR agency management and media relations. Further, this position will ensure consistent messaging internally and externally to support business unit and company objectives.

Essential Responsibilities
Serves as primary communications business partner for travel and pediatric vaccines, and a vaccine-candidate during the regulatory and pre-approval phase.
Offers communications counsel, product issues management as part of a cross-functional commercial operations team; offering communications strategic direction, execution, message delivery and results.
Works with little supervision in a collaborative fashion among cross-functional teams.
Agency management
Operates well in a global matrix environment with key interfaces with other communications colleagues in the vaccines business unit and throughout the larger Sanofi Communications network, Professional and Customer Marketing, Medical and Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Global Communications and Corporate Media Relations.
Responsible for strategic development and implementation of proactive product communications programs:
enhances awareness and acceptance of key brands among external and internal stakeholders (e.g., physicians, patients, caregivers, payors, advocates, legislators, employees) and the general, trade and on-line media;
develops integrated campaigns to create and manage stakeholder perceptions and influence healthcare choices that support business goals and brand sales targets;
successfully navigates media issues and proactive media programs;
develops and manages newsflow
Manages issues associated with products to protect the company and brand reputation.
Anticipates, prepares for and manages media issues with the press.
Ensures close coordination and timely reporting with Corporate Communications in Lyon and Bridgewater teams
Serves as internal communications counselor and ensures consistent strategic communications through internal vehicles; provides strategic counsel and implementation of internal communications strategy as it relates products of responsibility

Credentials and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
More than 10 years of communications, public relations/communications agency or corporate experience in the healthcare, biopharmaceutical industry
Experience in developing and executing creative and strategic communication plans and managing people and/or agency teams.
