The Data Scientist will be the subject matter expert working to advance GBA’s capabilities in analytics by identifying, evaluating, synthesizing and deploying new analytical technologies/approaches to GBA while helping to upskill colleagues and partners. Example analytics include interactivity/visualization of complex datasets and the implementation of new approaches for predictive analytics, machine learning and network analysis. The role requires strong technical and business acumen.

• Lead agile prototyping teams applying innovative analytical to address corporate-wide business problems
• Partners with senior leaders to develop and drive analytical capabilities throughout the organization
• Leads the development of the business case and prototype for next-gen analytics
• Architect and product manager for analytical products which leverage emerging data sources, advanced methodologies, and new efficient technologies
• Manages cross-functional team to address high-priority business problems
• Research, identify, and apply new algorithms and technologies to current business needs.
• Hands-on data engineering across multiple systems and data types
Qualifications
• Possesses deep analytical capabilities, with fluency in leading and innovation customer analytics techniques and methodologies, particularly related to multi-channel marketing.
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior level executives, and applies consultative skills including problem definition, consultative listening, hypothesis generation, data analysis, translation to insight, and story-telling for impact.
• Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred in a quantitative discipline.
• At least 10 years experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry with 5+ years in consultative role.
• Expert knowledge data engineering and modeling complex unstructured data.
• Fluency in statistical packages/scripting languages such as R/Python SQL
• Passion for data with experience working with large distributed data sets in Hadoop and computing using Hive, Impala, and Spark, graph databases (Neo4J).
• Experienced in API development, hybrid cloud architecture, and webscale technologies.
• Experienced in and passion for implementation and discovery of new approaches for predictive analytics including machine learning, network analysis, and statistical modeling.
• Maintains intellectual curiosity to identify potential new sources of value to Pfizer
• Ability to communicate complex analysis in a clear and actionable manner through interactive tools such as Tableau, Dataiku Data Science Studio, etc
