As the Director of Business Strategy & Planning you have a unique opportunity to not only build and lead teams but also work closely with senior business leaders to define the strategic direction of Sony’s PlayStation Video service. You will lead a team of charismatic staff with advanced degrees to shape strategic plans, anticipate opportunities and threats, and create robust analysis to prioritize strategic initiatives and investments.
Additionally, you will be responsible for driving global content pricing strategies for PlayStation Video. You will lead a team that seeks to maximize the sale of digital video content and services through effective pricing design, thoughtful governance, rigorous analytics that leverage PlayStation Network’s platform strengths.

You have strong digital video industry experience either from the content supplier or digital distribution perspective. You understand movies and TV content and all the ways to monetize this content through different business models across a growing digital landscape. You have a seamless ability to communicate with multi-disciplined and multi-cultural colleagues as well as key partners, at all levels of management. You are skilled at financial modeling, forecasting and statistical analysis, and content mix optimization analysis.

Leadership
Actively participate in leadership/management meetings and provide insights to drive business strategy and planning. Interface with executive leadership of Sony PlayStation.
Coach and lead a top-tier strategy & planning team to get work done with high quality output.
Delegate with accountability, influence with assertiveness, and do things responsibly.
Create and nurture a fun and productive work environment that also enables development of high-performing individuals.
Business Strategy
Develop forward looking strategic plans to drive business growth, focusing on revenue growth with a keen eye on profit line, consumer video engagement, and cross portfolio enhancement.
Identify market trends, competitive landscape, and digital content dynamics to highlight growth opportunities and new markets.
Develop well-organized, aesthetically clean presentations with an “entertainment feel” that gets the point(s) across. Present to all levels of the organization including executive audiences in a succinct manner that drives decision-making.
Business Planning & Analysis
Drive annual budget process for video management that incorporates budget milestones and all preparatory activities leading up to budget submission.
Build and structure robust business plans and forecasts that are aligned with global business strategy, accounting for local market variables, consumer needs, industry changes, and competitive landscape.
Build robust business cases including DCF models and other financial tools to support ROI analysis of strategic initiatives and other business related requests.
Oversee and drive analysis to determine the optimal mix of business services and content for global video business.
Oversee development of executive presentation materials for business management updates.
Lead equity research and analysis of business partners and competitors.
People Management
Manage team (including employees and contractors), budget, and expenses (abiding by company policy).
Coach and develop team members including direct reports and others within global video team.
Instill importance of development plans and develop succession plans for team growth.
ESSENTIALS:

MBA from a top-tier program
10+ years of investment banking or consulting experience in digital entertainment or media company.
6+ years of direct people management of personnel with advanced degrees
Extensive experience in film and/or television content on digital platforms located in the United States and abroad. Strong understanding of PlayStation Network and services offered.
Must be able to write, read, analyze, and interpret financial statements.
Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment.

Outstanding analytical, communication, organizational, negotiation and skills.

Have a collaborative style with a willingness and demonstrated ability to work in teams, as both a leader and a supporting team member.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
Ability to see the ‘big picture’ and apply a strategic perspective.
PREFERRED:

8+ years of post-MBA experience in a related field (entertainment or e-commerce).
Experience in financial management of digital content, including annual budget and long-range plan.
Experience working in a national or global company.
Foreign language skills would be helpful.
