In this position, you will manage and implement the Product & Quote Manager (PQM) program within GS IT which is a critical, highly complex, high profile, multi-million, multi-year program which has senior business, including GS President, and IT executives as sponsors.
The expectation of the role is to drive and implement strategic change, maintaining breadth and depth of perspective, utilizing enterprise and industry/market trends such as AWS cloud, Pivotal Cloud Foundry and a new integration platform (MULE). In addition establishing, managing and motivating a high caliber agile team in order to achieve such change.
In this role, you would:
Create a global UW platform for LIU which has a combined GWP of $5B.
The delivery of critical and highly complex solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the business operations in support of Global Specialty strategic and operational priorities. This is accomplished using an understanding of business objectives, coupled with an extensive knowledge of the organization processes and technology capabilities.
Long term strategic delivery of underwriting platforms with related integrations to Policy Admin, Finance, Document Management, publishing and all related analytics.
Regular communication with executives within GS Home Office and regions. These include GS President, GS CIO, UW leads and support teams, Heads of Operations & COO's, GS Finance and GSIT &Regional IT.
Global stakeholder management, communication, influence, and robust networks to enable strategic change.
The production of cost benefit analysis and business case for all initiatives and then be comfortable to clearly articulate these to audiences at all levels within the organization.
Develop and implements business and/or IT vision, critical success factors and operating plans; develops and communicates department/enterprise vision, strategies, critical success factors and plans; develops high level migration plans. Anticipates and manages technology evolution and relates it to business solutions. Sets direction based on alignment to business and overall technology standards.
Hire and manage all SCRUM leads and masters; coaches and counsels team members. Determines and manages staffing strategy and plan (# of FTEs, skills needed, depth of experience, internal and external staffing mix) consistent with the needs of the department.
Ensure oversight and decisions related to the full talent management cycle, including individual performance objectives and development plans in alignment with project and department objectives, performance appraisal, evaluation of department and individual performance and compensation recommendations.
Initiate and foster business partnerships with current and potential clients, vendors, IT executives, and senior business executives; develops relationships that promote trust and increase efficiency and effectiveness; balances individual client needs with business priorities assuring alignment with the business strategies and objectives.
Establish financial plan for department and manages to plan; ensures project financial plans are met by managers in department. Jointly establishes financial targets with business partners.
Manage operating plan and resource allocation for the department, including prioritization and staff deployment; acts based on changed priorities.
Formulate and executes process and organizational improvement direction and programs which enhance overall effectiveness; proactively seeks ways to improve human resource and other management processes.
Understand business process, issues/problems and applies appropriate IT standards and solutions.
Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts; performs or directs research on industry trends, competitors, business and IT products; analyzes trends and makes strategic and tactical recommendations.
Ensure system, technical and product architectures are aligned with business objectives.
This role might be for you if you have:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in technical or business discipline or related experience; Master's Degree preferred.
Generally more than 10 years related experience with 5 years in leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies (agile) and their application to business opportunities.
In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies.
In-depth knowledge of agile ceremonies and tools.
Ability to promote a team environment consisting of several teams. Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
Insurance industry experience preferred
