Digital Technology Director Strategy Partnerships CBRE Dallas

As part of those efforts, CBRE’s Digital and Technology team is looking to hire Director, Digital Strategy & Partnerships to join our newly formed team. The position will be responsible for researching trends, testing hypotheses, developing new business models, engaging startups & VCs, and executing partnerships. The role will engage with a thriving commercial real estate (CRE) technology ecosystem and prospect all relevant participants from large technology companies to start-ups and renowned VCs to identify, source and drive partnerships. Additionally, the role will work internally with Digital & Technology product teams and Lines of Business to implement a well-defined digital strategy. The role will also assist CBRE’s Corporate Development team to help underwrite and structure investments when required. The position will report to the SVP, Digital & Technology, with significant exposure to senior technology and business leaders, including the C-suite. The position will be located in Silicon Valley.
Role:

Actively represent CBRE in the in the VC & entrepreneurial community, positioning CBRE as a world-class partner
Manage internal (Digital & Technology, Corporate Strategy & Development, and line of business leadership) and external (VCs, start-ups, incubators, etc.) networks to source ideas
Create decision frameworks and use data-driven analyses to evaluate technology partnership opportunities. Collaborate with the business users to identify the key risks and opportunities, including need for business transformation or new operating models
Connect all relevant internal stakeholders, driving broad support for building & operationalizing partnerships
Create operating models that support the partnerships, and advise on scalable and sustainable deployment of technologies within the business
Support, engage, and mentor partner companies and founders, including incubation initiatives
Accurately track all start-ups through their lifecycle

Qualifications:

Strong expertise in Finance, Strategy & Operations or Product Development
5+ years in VC/PE, Technology, Management Consulting and/or Investment Banking. 6-8 years preferred
8-12 years of related experience and/or training, including five years of experience at the management level required.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university
MBA and/or Masters’ / PhD in Computer Science or related field, preferred
Deep understanding of technology and its ability to address business challenges or create new business models
Experience with startups, VCs, and incubators to develop partnerships and/or making investments
Experience negotiating deals and ability to balance long-term strategic value with short-term business needs
Strong technology and operational skills, whether in product development or business operations
Highly analytical, problem solving capabilities – quickly get to the crux of the issues
Detail oriented, with ability to create detailed business and operating models
Creative thinker with ability to surface and transform innovative ideas into products and/or business models
Ability to act like an owner – bringing an entrepreneurial mindset and boundless energy and optimism
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to articulate information concisely and precisely
High degree of self-confidence, honesty and personal integrity
Comfortable working within an ambiguous environment
Experience with senior-most leadership team of Fortune 500 companies, including the C-suite
