Solve’s Content and Digital Director will play a key role in empowering the entire Solve community. They will spearhead the development of Solve’s digital platform, and they will set up and grow an active online community with the capabilities to crowdsource solutions to specific challenges globally. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and build a movement to address the biggest issues of our time. The Content and Digital Director will report directly to Solve’s Executive Director and be part an integral member of Solve’s leadership team. This is a full-time position, located in Cambridge, MA.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Overall strategy
Work with Executive Director and other stakeholders to set strategy for Solve’s content, marketing, and digital presence
Management and oversight
Set timelines and requirements for marketing, media and digital assets, real and virtual events, and oversee delivery of all materials with very high standard of excellence
Work collaboratively with MIT Technology Review departments including Marketing, Art, Product Development and Editorial for materials that require input or support
Oversee staff, consultants, and any outside providers
Negotiate consultant and outside provider contracts
Manage content, marketing and digital budget
Branding
Develop or update Solve branding including guidelines, logos, and core marketing
Work with Solve staff and outside providers to ensure all signage and collateral is in line with branding guidelines
Content and Marketing
Develop content and marketing strategy across platforms, for events, and for specific Solve audiences
Oversee all content collateral production whether press releases, marketing language, social media, op-eds, website copy, or community communications
Write and/or edit content as needed
Website and digital assets
Set strategy for website design and development, taking into account stakeholder and user needs
Manage relationship with 3rd party web design/development team, as well as timelines, budget, planning and phases for launch, ensuring high quality, on budget, on time delivery of website
Once website is designed, oversee regular update and maintenance with internal Technology Review web development team to ensure online solutions for Solve are easily maintained
Oversee or manage all online aspects of Solve challenges
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS
Minimum 8 years’ experience spanning content, marketing, digital, design
At least 2 years’ experience managing staff and consultants and overseeing third party providers
Experience in start-up and/or social impact environment preferred
Proven ability to lead content strategy and website design or re-design preferred
Proven ability to effectively manage vendor relationships and meet budget goals
Highly developed organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, handling projects simultaneously
Ability to prioritize and plan work in an efficient manner to meet deadlines
Must be flexible and able to work independently, take initiative and anticipate needs
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
