The Director, Research Synthesis partners with Global and US TA teams to solve key evidence gaps with existing data. This role provides expertise in finding , accessing, and analyzing data in the context of a specific strategy.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Partner with therapeutic area team to define research questions as they relate to the project objectives.
Develop a project plan and monitors project progress.

Identify existing databases which may provide the needed data to address project objectives.
Design and implement a focused search strategy across relevant data sources including published or grey literature sources, registry data, claims databases, and EMR systems.
Develop inclusion/exclusion criteria to be implemented during screening process.
Oversee the screening of abstracts and full-text articles against defined inclusion/exclusion criteria to assess their suitability for inclusion in the review. Delete
If outsourced, provides technical oversight of identified vendor to deliver on expected outcome.
Validate data abstraction and extraction.
Finalize the analyzable dataset.
Develops process framework to build success with teams in use of existing data to solve key data gaps.
Qualifications
Basic:
Deep understanding of research principles in health care and extensive knowledge of practical research implementation.
Master's level understanding of relevant methodology and statistics (systematic literature reviews, meta-analysis, etc.).
Demonstrated project management experience is essential, preferably within pharmaceutical industry.
Broad understanding of supported therapeutic areas, or demonstrated ability to work across multiple therapeutic areas concurrently.
Ability to synthesize large volumes of information and communicate findings in a succinct and precise manner. Understanding of the key differences, benefits, and limitations of various data sources, and be able to recommend the optimal data sources for which to answer a specific research question.
Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance.
Learns fast, grasps the ‘essence’ and can change course quickly where indicated. Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo.
