The B2B E-Commerce Platform Strategy Director leads UPS’s B2B e-commerce strategy and roadmap by developing and executing strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate threats. He/She develops, communicates, monitors and recommends changes to UPS's three to five year B2B e-commerce strategy. He/she identifies obstacles and opportunities for UPS that span across segments, geographies and business units. This position involves facilitating relationships and collaborating with companies engaged in enabling B2B e-commerce.

Other Duties
Identifies opportunities for UPS to change/improve UPS's products/services to meet the needs of business buyers and the merchants that sell to these buyers
Identifies and analyzes industry trends that will impact UPS and/or customers to develop projections of customer needs and potential solutions
Identifies attractive customer segments to prioritize strategic efforts within B2B e-commerce
Analyzes and forecasts future competitive actions to understand future competitive challenges
Leads business case creation to justify changes in process, procedures, or products for communication to key stakeholders to drive decision making
Manages project lifecycles, including project scope, resources, schedule, initiation, start-up/design, building, and deployment from beginning to ends
Manages both direct and indirect resources formally and informally to continuously manage the productivity of the team, project timelines and deliverable

Project Planning: Develops and executes project management plans for moderately complex and medium duration projects as well as basic programs; defines most of the initiatives project needs and cross-functional roles/responsibilities throughout the project life cycle; develops recommendations on best way to fulfill the project requirements given the current project and organizational dynamics; overcomes basic organizational resistance to cross-functional demands; demonstrates the ability to successfully apply the project management discipline and remains current on project management practices and tools.
Conducts Environmental Scanning: Assesses the impact of regulatory actions under consideration and identifies appropriate action plans, leveraging the work of Public Affairs; translates technology developments into issues and opportunities for UPS.
Conducts Competitive Analysis: Demonstrates a detailed understanding of competitor’s strategies and offerings; collects, analyzes, and interprets competitive information; identifies areas where UPS is at a competitive disadvantage and suggests ideas for improving its competitive position.
Applies Problem Definition & Structuring Knowledge: Uses hypothesis driven investigation to solve problems; identifies relationships and patterns among data from various sources; tests for causality and identifies root causes of problems or trends.
Applies Knowledge of Segmenting and Targeting: Applies analytics and logic to select and recommend target segments; identifies and completes processes to classify customers and prospects into targeted segments; profiles needs, expectations, and business processes of firms in target segments; able to create succinct, customer centric value statements focused on the most salient product/service benefits supported by solid customer insights.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree – Preferred
