We are looking for a senior operations leader to oversee all aspects of food manufacturing and fulfillment for our two biggest and highest volume facilities located in New Jersey. This role will have overall responsibility for improvement of facilities safety, quality, and service metrics as well as the reduction of total cost of operation. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the successful start up of, and assuring operational readiness of new facilities in the region, including hiring all personnel, creating and executing a training plan, development of lean processes in the facility to drive a fast start-up to meet the growing demands of the business.

Operations:
Create a culture in the Fulfillment Centers that delivers upon our values of Blue Apron of Life Long Learning, Trust, Quality, Teamwork and Empowerment.
Develop, implement and ensure adherence to processes that drive continuous improvement in the areas of Employee Safety, Product Quality & Safety, Environmental Compliance, Customer Service and Cost.
Leadership in execution of the Blue Apron Management Operating System the Continuous Improvement program for the organization, to deliver improvement in Safety, Quality, Service, Sustainability and Costs.
Assure compliance to all regulatory requirements and develop a plan to have the facilities become SQF certified.
Maintain oversight responsibility for all programs associated with food quality and food safety.
Assure the successful start-up of the Linden facility by hiring the right people, creating and executing the training program, and implement the Blue Apron Management Operating System in the facility.
Over deliver the Annual Operating Plan by assuring the plant is constantly filling the initiative pipeline and executing the top priorities.
Develop and execute capital plans for both facilities that deliver the required return on investment as well as maintain facility stewardship of the locations and align with the future business needs of the brands.
Support culinary and supply chain teams in executing new ingredient introductions and recipe creations.
Work with the HQ Planning and Logistics team to assure we generate a plan that delivers our customer service requirements at the lowest landed costs.
Improve operational throughput per employee hour.
Ensure regulatory compliance.
Complete special projects, duties and assignments, as appropriate.
Ensure the existence of a work environment conducive to teams and teamwork.
Ensure Succession and Organizational Development plans are developed and maintained for the plant location.
Coach teams and individuals to be results driven.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent, required.
Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent, with a concentration in Food Science, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent, preferred.
Masters in Business Administration, or equivalent, preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 10 years of Operations Leadership (management) experience in a complex, fast paced manufacturing environment, required.
Management experience in a food manufacturing environment or food products industry, including familiarity with SQF Systems, preferred.
Experience with statistical analysis and practical application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) on the shop floor, required.
Experience leading continuous improvement processes in a manufacturing environment.
Experience driving business results in the areas of Employee Safety, Product Quality & Safety, Environmental Compliance, Customer Service and Cost.
Experience developing and executing against operating budgets and capital plans, within a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading the development and successful implementation of complex projects in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading and working with a diverse group of people.
Experience with union negotiations, grievance resolution and labor relations, strongly preferred.
Multi-Location Direct Management experience preferred.
