The Director, FP&A is a true business partner and a respected content expert to their client groups. He/she provides high level, sophisticated business support and counsel to senior management. Their recommendations can alter and shape business focus and how financial objectives are met.

Responsible for Global financial planning and analysis activities in support of a specific BU
Responsible to provide monthly operating results accompanied with insight and advice to the BU leader
Provide direction to staff to manage annual budget and quarterly forecast process
Prepare and conduct detailed financial analysis to CFO on BU quarterly performance
Model analytics and work with BU leader to act on appropriate changes
Analyzes best practices for FP&A team and operationalize new practices across the team in an effort to create a united culture of FP&A professionals
Through detailed analysis from various sources and systems, create long-term innovative solutions that will assist the BU and Gartner as a whole in achieving financial stability while minimizing financial uncertainties.
Become key business partner
Be able to link respective business operations / business strategy with financial results and go-forward projections
Reach beyond specific business unit support to work on cross functional teams (when appropriate)
Identifies areas of risk and opportunities to enhance business models.
Provide thought provoking analysis to help BU management and leadership better
Understand business results and focus on areas of importance and improvement and recommend / implement changes

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in business, finance, or accounting required
General knowledge of GAAP -Experience in SEO (serch engine optimization) and SEM (search engine marketing) business that generates revenue from web sites.
Advanced degree and or certification desired
8-12 years experience in a financial reporting and analysis capacity
Indepth knowledge of business operations and the impact on financial modeling
Excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization. Ability to distill large amounts/complex information into a concise message
Independent thinking and complex problem solving skills
Proven success operating as a business partner and leader
