The Senior Director Digital Strategist is a full stack digital marketing expert. This person will understand the complete marketing journey from prospect to advocate. The role is responsible for leading the development of prospect engagement strategies leveraging all digital channels, including PPC, SEO, display, distribution, mobile and social. This person will know the key digital advertising platforms and have experience planning and executing data-driven programs to reach, engage and convert prospect to customers. In addition, the Sr. Director will also keep a pulse on industry trends and best practices for targeting, content, execution and analytics. This person will be the subject matter expert on the existing and emerging opportunities to apply digital strategy and tactics against complex B to B business opportunities.

This person is responsible for developing strategies that deliver on AppDynamics business and brand goals by integrating inputs from across the company to build a point of view that reflects consensus from all stakeholders. The ability to influence and work with colleagues across various disciplines and departments within the company is essential. Expertise with complex cross-channel strategies, including online advertising, websites, CRM, social media, and mobile is essential.



Responsibilities

Develop and communicate customer experience and engagement strategies that integrate appropriate digital media.
Build acquisition, nurturing, cross sell, retention, and loyalty programs across a variety of engagements and channels
Identify the best digital media to use for the audience/marketing strategy.
Become a trusted advisor to the business, advising on new release and general marketing best practices; build, develop and deliver complete strategic plans to meet their business objectives
Collaborate across complex organization structures including a wide variety of client teams, company resources and agency specialist partners
Identify and quantify new opportunities to grow the clients’ business; deliver presentations, plans and advice to help achieve competitive advantage
Act as a coach and mentor for less experienced team members. Provide work direction, guidance and ongoing feedback related to team performance
Be responsible for thought leadership in the marketplace by contributing to the teams efforts to develop POVs/content on digital marketing as an authority voice
Know the customer by leveraging data to understand customer behavior, develop new customer insights, and drive new targeted marketing opportunities.
Stay current with digital trends. Digital is constantly changing – to stay at the top of our game, we need to continually monitor current digital trends, new technology solutions, and competitive strategies – and then translate into new marketing ideas for clients.


Desired Skills And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or equivalent desired
Direct B to B enterprise experience in technology
12+ years deep experience in digital marketing – including but not limited to email marketing, website analytics, search, social media, display, mobile, CRM. Online acquisition experience is a plus.
Experience or familiarity with technologies and best practices related to some or most of the following: Customer Lifetime Value, CRM, marketing/sales automation, Content Marketing, Lead Management/Lead Nurture, data driven marketing and experience development
Experience working in a lead role in an agency or consulting firm
Proven experience using your digital knowledge to drive business performance across media and channels
Strong knowledge of digital media and digital content model
Hands-on skills using data to drive decisions – proficiency in Excel is required
Experience translating data analysis into actionable marketing recommendations and presentations – proficiency in PowerPoint is required.
Ability to leverage business experience / acumen to identify new business and marketing opportunities.
Strong listening skills to understand clients visible and invisible needs, can recognize a situation needing a resolution and ability to grow account
Must have superior relationship building skills.
High intellectual curiosity, drive, determination, self-confidence and persuasion skills.
