Director Procurement Logistics The Coca-Cola Company Atlanta

This is a key role for the effective procurement of third-party transportation and warehousing services for the Coca-Cola System in North America. The candidate will have responsibility for an expenditure of approximately $300-$700MM, and will be responsible for effectively managing services like (but not limited to):

Transportation: RFP/bid management and execution, transportation network modeling and design (specifically mode selection), supplier-relationship management, and other consultative-type services to benefit Coca-Cola Bottlers
Warehousing: RFP/bid management and execution, racking and space optimization, warehouse automation, automated case picking, supplier-relationship management, and other consultative-type services to benefit Coca-Cola Bottlers
Finally, the candidate will be a leader who is capable of developing associates in a team setting, and communicating to stakeholders across all levels of multiple organizations.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position will include the following:

Recruit/train/develop associates reporting directly to the CCBSS Logistics Procurement team, contribute to the overall success of the larger Supply Procurement group, and serve as a key contributor to the expanded CCBSS Procurement leadership team.
Drive performance of the Logistics team by establishing goals, initiatives, and projects that contribute to the overall success of CCBSS.
Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders across all levels of CCBSS; these stakeholders will range from front-line associates to executives of Coca-Cola Bottlers throughout North America.
Act as a key contact for CCBSS with other Procurement/Technical groups and councils, specifically CEPG, GSP, etc.
Negotiate with suppliers to optimize cost, quality, service, innovation and sustainability for all Logistics-related needs.
Create category strategies that garner the best value for a wide group of stakeholders, while providing viable options for individual business-unit needs.
Improve processes that minimize transportation and warehouse waste or increase operating expenses.
Lead category councils to drive continuous improvement to CCBSS stakeholders.

Requirements


Required Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or equivalent work experience (minimum 7-10 years).
Experience: 5-8 years combined experience in any of the following areas: Procurement, Logistics, Transportation, Warehousing, Plant Management, Finance, or Customer Service.
Demonstrated leadership abilities commensurate with the need to grow and develop associates in a team setting.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to establish collaborative relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to influence others in a collaborative way.
Working knowledge of contract structures and agreements.
Learning agility, with demonstrated ability to learn and influence different areas of the business in a successful way.
Demonstrated attention to detail, analytical skills, and an understanding of budgets/corporate finances.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Masters of Business Administration or other advanced degree
Experience: Expertise in the field of Transportation/Warehousing/Supply Chain, and/or 5-8 years managing professional associates, and/or 3-5 years of global procurement experience.
Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements pertinent to Transportation.
Strategic thought leadership in the procurement space, and demonstrated ability leading a successful Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program.
Project and/or Process management certifications.
Technology: Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), SAP, Zycus (or equivalent spend analytics tools), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Yard/Warehouse management tools, and E-sourcing tools
