The position, Director of Operations, U.S. Public Sector: State, Local and Education – Western Operations, is responsible for building and leading a talented sales team involved in positioning and promoting the Customer Business & Political drivers, Partner Value proposition, and reinforcing existing relationships within Public Sector SLED. This position requires the ability to drive profitable revenue growth, maintain executive relationships, and deliver business and mission outcomes.

As a candidate for this role, you will possess a clear understanding of Public Sector Procurement Policies and understand the appropriate application of Lobbyists, Political Consultants, Marketing and PR Resources and Public Sector buying cycles.

Strategy & Planning
• Lead strategic planning to achieve sales goals by prioritizing and coordinating the go-to-market for sales initiatives.
• Manage all aspects of sales business operations including, but not limited to resource management, market growth, customer engagement, accurate sales reporting, and employee development.
• Develop and communicate business/technology alignment plans to partners, customers, technology groups, and executive sales stakeholders.
• Develop and execute the Western Operations sales strategy across SLED West Area.

Operational Excellence & Reporting
• Drive overall performance metrics including headcount investments, pipeline as leading indicator, attach rates, etc. across operation.
• Working with partners, internal teams and executive leadership to deliver consistent results.
• Develop channel strategies and direction for the Operation to ensure maximum market coverage and resulting revenue.
• Develop and implement policies, process, programs, systems and service support to drive mutual success.

Position Requirements

Knowledge and Experience


• 5+ years’ experience selling products, services, and solutions to the U.S. Public Sector
• 4+ years’ experience managing and/or directing sales organizations and sales strategy.
• 10+ years’ experience working in sales in the technology industry.
• University degree and 15+ years of related experience in the networking industry.
• Experience selling to large, complex SLED agencies.
• Experience developing relationships with senior government officials.
• Experience in management of all aspects of sales support processes, organizational structures, management practices and staff development.
