Watch: Career Advice The Mobile Director of Sales Development & Product Strategy will play an integral role in the success of the group. Specifically, s/he will be responsible for:
Defining a go-to-market strategy, including target institutions and approaches to driving effective sales efforts
Working closely with sales leaders and teams to ensure pipeline creation and progression
Owning and synthesizing ongoing win/loss, and selling obstacles and needs
Gathering and analyzing sales, market and competitive feedback to inform multiple product roadmaps
Driving solution definition and go-to-market activities in support of achieving revenue goals for mobile products
Work with other product managers to develop multi-quarter product roadmaps
Leading and working with the operational services and delivery teams across Blackboard to ensure operational readiness including developing delivery materials and training delivery resources on new services
Working closely with other product managers to identify key product and/or solution gaps within Blackboards product solutions for Higher Education
Working closely with the marketing leaders
Representing Blackboard in key industry events and initiatives
Training sales leaders and reps
Influencing optimal sales structure
Driving critical sales meetings
Professional Qualifications
Required Skills:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree; with sales / go-to-market experience
Experience with technology
Demonstrated communication, analytical and problem solving skills, and short term and long term planning skills.
The ability to guide and work with cross-functional teams, and the ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally
Collaborative, with relationship building skills that generate product enthusiasm and produce results beyond expectations
Demonstrated innovation and creative thinking/problem-solving in developing and managing a portfolio of solutions that are compelling and game-changing
Strong customer focus, with ability to identify business problems through a variety of techniques including face to face interviews, surveys and customer advisory boards and the skills to be able to communicate how these capabilities contribute to solving Institutions larger business challenges
Fluency in written and spoken English are required.
Ability to travel

10+ years in education, sales and/or technology
Education experience preferred
MBA desired
Ability to command an effective presence amongst senior leaders of educational institutions
Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
Independent, self-starter with strong prioritization, project management and coordination skills; and ability to excel in a fluid, cross-functional team environment
Ability to travel 25-50%.
