The Director - Build & Release Engineering is responsible for the overall software release and delivery of multiple products, product areas, or platforms. S/he will be responsible for coordinating with various development teams (engineering & test) across the globe, for a timely delivery of the software bits that constitute the overall product area.

Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities also include working with teams outside of O&G Digital, for integrating & delivery of the final product. S/he will lead the effort to adapt, optimize and roll-out development processes for increased efficiency of the development teams. S/he will be the main point-of-contact for maintaining & presenting the current state of any release to the Senior executive staff on a regular basis, highlight issues, carve out an escalation path for them and eventual resolution of each such issue working with multiple teams.Essential Responsibilities:
Manages the overall product release/build plan for the assigned product area
Coordinates with multiple software development teams to ensure timely delivery of features
Works with individual scrum teams to ensure acceptance criteria is met for the release
Provides timely and regular updates to Executive staff, highlights critical issues and influences the resolution of those issues in a timely manner
Participates in defining and optimizing development processes on a regular basis, for increasing efficiency of software development
Works with various scrum teams to ensure any impediments are addressed in timely manner relating to infra-structure, and consistent processes are followed
Coordinates timely delivery and acceptance of 3rd-party (non O&G digital components) for O&G Digital consumption
Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 10+ years of software development experience along with established leadership across the discipline and function
Minimum of 5 years for leading Software Release Management groups preferably in an Agile environment.

Have direct Enterprise (IT) software development experience
Substantial experience in releasing software products, involving multiple & geographic dispersed teams, preferably using Agile methodologies
Working knowledge of continuous delivery concepts: continuous integration, deployment, and automated testing
Ability to resolve conflicts across various teams when expectations are ill-defined or not well-understood, and moderate between the teams for timely deliverables
Technical Expertise:
Experience working with various Source Code control systems (git, clearcase) and scripting languages/frameworks for build automation
Exposure to working with Cloud providers/infrastructure (AWS, Azure), database technologies, operating systems (Windows, Linux) and orchestration tools (Chef, puppet) Experience working with regression suites and automation scripts for validation
Experience with analytics tools to present release status to Executive Staff
