Twitter is seeking a Director of Communications to provide vision and leadership for results-oriented public relations programs critical to the organization’s communications goals. The role has responsibility for media relations, crisis PR, and both internal and external communications relating to product innovation and other key business and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience running global programs and working as part of a cross-functional marketing team.

Provide strategic counsel to relevant product and business teams to build and communicate product innovation, business and marketing initiatives that support the company’s reputation and brand image with customers, advertisers, developers and partners.
Develop proactive PR campaigns to educate people about Twitter's products, policies, business and marketing initiatives.
Lead public positioning of product and brand issues.
Respond to crisis situations, including technical issues, content controversies, and other issues.
Manage and develop a team of experienced communications professionals.
Provide strategic counsel to executive spokespeople.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Policy, Journalism, Communications, or related field
10+ years of experience managing press and stakeholder relations in product innovation, policy, and issues management
Experience building outreach programs and managing stakeholder relations at a national or international level
Experience dealing with global product and policy issues
Proven experience managing issues and driving crisis communications in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
Great writing skills and analytical ability
Strong leadership and management experience
