We are looking for an Art Director, Global Brand Creative.The Art Director provides leadership, vision and strategy to the Levi’s global brand marketing efforts. They maintain relationships with selected partners, understand their business objectives and strategy, and are able to utilize that knowledge to create designs to address the strategies – assuring the objectives have been met with the proper tone, messaging and design. The Art Director also provides in-depth knowledge across their scoped program of work – focusing on global packaging initiative and marketing campaign development.

Responsibilities:
LEADERSHIP
Lead their design team in creation of best in class marketing communications while considering the consumer mindset in all creative components, working in either a managerial role and a hands on designer role based on the specific needs of the project.
Maintain a strong strategic relationship with channel partners to stay abreast of developments in strategy, objectives, testing initiatives, data and analytics, and retail/wholesale/e-commerce sales & traffic performance.
Promote the professional development of department by encouraging staff to stay abreast on current design trends, technology and relevant media.
Provide clear and concise direction to direct reports in terms of developing design concepts, troubleshooting issues and setting goals.
CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGY
Act as the anchor point for aligning creative development work with other channel-specific strategic objectives and build partnerships to bridge the creative connection between cross-functional teams in Marketing and Merchandising.
Develops a set of consistent and comprehensive brand standards and production guidelines which will exist as internal marketing communication tools for a variety of content producer audiences
Partner with designers and writers to develop fresh concepts that accomplish project objectives, maximize the impact of each marketing message, and ensure accuracy in all finished products.
Provide art direction on small-and large-scale projects from creative conception to completion. This includes brainstorming with creative team on complex projects/campaigns and supervising comprehensive presentations that reflect an understanding of the briefer’s brand strategy and business objectives.
Art Direct photography/film shoots and operate as the senior lead to all creative partners on set, fulfilling your role throughout all facets of pre-production through to post-production and delivery.
Receive direction and present proposed design/advertising solutions while meeting deadlines on a variety of projects simultaneously. Ensure work is reviewed/approved before presentation.
Present work to peers, partners and executives in a clear, professional manner. Include research that will support chosen strategies.
Work with external vendors to provide creative direction on outsourced creative projects and communicate brand updates to these vendors
Demonstrates global cultural awareness with regard to content crossing global borders and leverages consultant resources, as required
TECHNICAL
Keep up-to-date with design, photography and print production technology as well as brand relevant cultural trends, implementing new technologies and sharing this knowledge with the team.
Adhere to standards in color quality and specifications; inspects and approves designs.
Manage creative aspects of 2D/3D development, working with production and implementation teams as needed.
Oversees post-production process with external vendors.
PROJECT & RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Adhere to project timelines and partner with project management to mitigate and escalate work issues and impacting parameters for project deadlines.
Manage collaboration among team members (both design and copy) as called for by project complexity and assign team members and delegate workload to direct report team.
Attend status, direction, presentation and feedback meetings to offer creative input and ensure that creative team is functioning effectively.
Identifies cost savings and constraints of each project before presenting conceptual solutions.
Desired Skills & Experience
College Degree preferred and/or and/or 10 years of design and art direction or agency experience.
Minimum 10 years of experience in art direction/design, preferably to include retail/fashion/apparel branded work in a consumer brand environment or internal agency.
Experience working with a youth-oriented and relevant lifestyle brand/product.
Prior supervision and management experience.
Experienced presenting work in a meeting environment to top-level executives.
Creative thinker who can provide a solid portfolio of creative ideas.
Expert understanding of marketing campaign development and the various mediums to execute a campaign: print production process; video/film production; photographic production; variety of media outlets.
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud environment applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).
Print design, prototyping, and production, including detailed management of high volume of design files, and print vendors, to see print creative lifecycle through to completion/on-floor/in-market.
Experienced with photography and film shoots and managing all aspects of pre and post production.
Experience with Digital Asset Management, online graphics procurements systems, pre-flight of files
Knowledge of typography
Use visual and creative sensibilities to translate creative concepts into materials for the internal and external consumer
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to interface with all levels of management is essential.
