This role is a Senior Director position reporting to the Global Sterile Injectables Lead in Pfizer Essential Health. Pfizer Essential Health (PEH) includes i.) brands that have lost market exclusivity and generally the mature patent protected products that are expected to lose exclusivity through 2015 in most major markets, ii) the Sterile Injectables (SI) business iii) Biosimilars and iv.) current and future established products growth initiatives.
• The SI business is a $7B+ segment for PEH and one of the key pillars of the PEH growth strategy

This role drives the formulation of the Sterile Injectables strategy, and leads key strategic growth and efficiency projects sponsored by the Global Injectables lead and leadership team. It assimilates key business issues and opportunities to develop plans for the mid- and long-term

Responsibilities

In this role, your responsibilities will be to:
• Lead strategic projects that are growth & efficiency drivers for SI (e.g. new growth initiatives, network strategy etc.)
• Analyze evolving market trends for injectables (competitors, supply, pricing etc.) to inform updates or changes required to Pfizer’s Injectables Portfolio and Commercial strategies
• Lead and develop regular performance reports for the SI business integrating information from finance, BAI, competitive intelligence, commercial teams in global and markets
• Prepare and lead presentations to senior management on SI strategic initiatives including preparing guidance for earnings, quarterly SI updates to PEH LT/ELT, Operating Plans etc.
• Support Global SI lead and SI LT with key partnerships, alliances as required
• Leads next generation ideas, including long-term expansion in China
• Ensure continued commitment of the organization for SI to be a sustainable growth engine for PEH
• Partner with the PEH strategy and Portfolio strategy teams as required on select global initiatives
• Identify potential BD targets in collaboration with Regions/NBP/BD teams

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:
Minimum:
• Master's degree in business, strategy or related quantitative field
• At least fifteen (15) years of experience in general management, strategy consulting or corporate finance
• Learning and change agility to develop clear perspectives on the business opportunities and challenges and to articulate a strong vision
Key capabilities required:
• Proven track record of leading projects, driving change and organizing teams that successfully achieve milestones and deliverables
• Ability to anticipate and articulate implementation challenges of high-level strategy projects
• Ability to integrate and “connect the dots” across multiple aspects of the business
• Ability to quickly frame key questions, scope projects, and propose a structured and practical approach to solving complex and ill-defined problems
• Best in class analytical and business skills; extensive expertise in business case and business development

Candidates should have demonstrated:
• Industry knowledge
o Deep understanding of the PEH/ Multi-source pharmaceutical business; experience working in a multi-source environment a plus
o Broad strategic & analytical capabilities (e.g. strategic planning, innovation & organizational transformation)
o Strong understanding of working with R&D, Manufacturing and Commercial teams
o Understanding of commercial development, pricing/tendering environment

o Excellent communication skills including effective oral and written communication in large/small groups, excellent presentation skills
o Strong presence and ability to drive groups, including senior audiences, to conclusions

NYHQ based, may require some non-extensive business travel to Chicago/Lake Forest
