Research Director Social Experiential Solutions IDC Framingham

IDC is seeking a Research Director, Social and Experiential Solutions that understands the social-related software, services, and best practices that companies use to engage with their customers. The ideal candidate is a recognized social media thought leader familiar with the social media solutions market who maintains relationships with marketing executives who lead social media functions in their company as well as the industry brands who supply related solutions to these companies.

They will work with IDC’s Customer Experience and CMO Advisory team as they delve into various social media solutions and practices. The candidate will need to demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the following areas: social marketing and advertising, social selling, online communities, and social monitoring and intelligence.

Responsibilities:

Analyze and write thought leadership reports on applicable social solution topics aimed primarily at a social solutions end-user executives.
Manage and write IDC DecisionScapes, surveys, and data analysis
Update and maintain data models for the major social solution vendors and markets tracked by IDC
Contribute to models on emerging social media-related best practices
Help maintain consistency across multiple datasets within IDC
Create PowerPoint presentations that analyze the application of market data and trends to business issues
Participate in custom research projects
Travel to customer meetings and events, as required
Drive business development in both the social solutions and end-user segments
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications required:

Bachelor s degree required [Journalism, Marketing, or Social Science preferred)
Master's Degree a plus
Excellent writing, research, business development and public speaking skills
10 + years of experience in marketing, sales, or information technology
Ability to rapidly develop content based on analyst conversations, vendor briefings, and customer interviews.
Strong research skills are needed
