Director Traditional Hospitality Growth Management Airbnb San Francisco

The Traditional Hospitality Growth and Management Director will be responsible for the growth and development of hosts who are eager to share properties that have typically only been used for short-term stays including select homes in traditional Vacation Markets and small hospitality providers like Bed and Breakfasts. You will be responsible for creating and executing a strategy that drives acquisition, retention and quality of these hosts, as well as enabling them to drive incremental business to Airbnb. You and your team directly execute levers which can be easily managed centrally and create and manage programs which get executed by our market managers around the world. The position reports to the Global Head of Host and Community Operations (HCO) and is a key member of the HCO leadership team.

Your success will be determined by your ability to unlock this segment as a significant driver of new business growth for Airbnb. You will need to be an expert at navigating cross functional working relationships and leading both directly and through influence. The ideal candidate has a unique blend of operational prowess and creative genius. We need someone who is analytical, decisive and has the entrepreneurial drive to craft and execute a strategic plan for our markets. On top of that, we need someone with true passion for what we are doing: Pioneering the sharing economy and helping our hosts be micro-entrepreneurs.

In this role you will be a strategist, an executor, and a cross-functional leader. The work is hard, the team is brilliant, the mission is big. You will be based in San Francisco, with trips to the key markets when necessary, to represent Airbnb there and execute local strategies.

Create and manage a Global Playbook for Host Acquisition, Retention and Management
Develop a strategic approach to recruiting Hosts that is consistent with Airbnb values of entrepreneurialism and leveraging technology and community whenever possible
Take an iterative data-driven approach to understand the efficacy of various levers to recruit volume hosts
Understand how local cultural, legal and government relations realities as well as marketplace dynamics impact the playbook and help local teams adapt acquisition and management tools to these realities
Programmatically manage a large team of support representatives who sit within CX and outsource call centers to support market managers ability to acquire and manage Hosts
Establish global consistency with regard to success measurements of our efforts relative to Hosts
Expertly consume all current internal and external data and come up with effective ways to present them in a concise manner
Actively monitor current trends and competitive landscape of the travel & tourism industry
Utilize current and appropriate forecasting methods to develop geographic and industry related forecast
Requirements

Masters or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study
7+ years experience leading operations or sales teams, ideally with a focus on managing professional suppliers in a marketplace where are were also consumer suppliers
Proven track record as a great cross-functional business partner and ability to manage within a matrix
Basic knowledge in strategic, economic, and financial analysis frameworks and model
Ability to clearly and concisely present information to a variety of audiences ranging from C-level executives to large groups of market managers and specialists
Proven dedication to strong and thoughtful people management and development
