Director Strategic Partnerships eBay San Jose

This role reports to the Vice President, eBay Americas Business Operations / GM, Rest of Americas. This individual will have significant interaction with SVP, eBay Americas, the Americas leadership team as well as our CEO, CFO and VP, Corporate Development.
Successful candidates will have a deep passion for ecommerce marketplaces; exceptional structured thinking and communication skills; ability to make recommendations with imperfect data; comfort being both a “player” and a “coach”. Preferred candidates will also have a strong bias for action, ability to negotiate complex transactions, proven experience with structuring customized deals, comfort working across a matrix and intuition in balancing “right” and “fast”.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Americas Strategic Partnerships team as a “player-coach”
Identify and develop strategic partners and opportunities for strategic relationships.
Initiate, structure, negotiate and close partnership deals that support eBay’s strategy
Ensure eBay achieves optimum structure, terms and conditions for each deal
Support Americas business unit to accelerate strategic growth plans. Be a key strategic resource to business unit and corporate management on a full range of development activities, including financial analysis, business analysis, strategy analysis and formulation, due diligence, structuring, contract terms and conditions, valuation, negotiation and transition/integration of initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of senior experience in business development, strategic partnerships, strategy consulting, and corporate development
M.B.A. from top-tier institution
Proven track record of successful negotiation for impactful, complex deals, including relationship management
Additional preference: e-commerce, retail, CPG, mobile or payments industry experience
Fun, persistent “can-do” individual
