As Director of Project Management - Commercial Construction, you will join CBRE on-site at a Silicon Valley Fortune 500 tech client’s Los Angeles & Orange County offices to lead a team 10, managing design, delivery, and customer satisfaction from concept to completion to all regional projects. Recruiting, building, and leading a team, you will directly control profit and performance for project types including: Tenant Improvements, Multi-Site Roll-Outs, Office Relocations, Ground-Up Constructions, Environmental & Civil Compliance, Pre-Construction & Risk Mitigation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Lead a team of 10 that collaborates with and consults client project executives from start to finish, facilitating design & build process, reviewing scope of work, means & methods to reduce costs, and offer value engineering considerations
● Take responsibility for all managerial and administrative aspects of a project including estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
● Ensure the project plan, scope, work structure, schedule, and budget are maintained by all involved parties (e.g. consultants, engineers, architects, vendors, etc.)

● Remain cost conscious and aware of every aspect of the project at all times, treating client money as yours
● Track savings opportunities and cost avoidance for client documentation

● Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders in both a thorough & timely manner. In addition to standard formal correspondence, proactive communication such as in-person discussions and or phone calls often needed to ensure prompt replies/actions
● Drive all meetings, directives, action items, and course corrections with highest sense of urgency to ensure timelines are kept, deadlines are met, and commitments are honored
● Consistently search for and capitalize on all opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships

● Split physical presence in Los Angeles & Orange County offices, + occasional travel to Bay Area offices

QUALIFICATIONS:

● BS in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
● 15+ years of demonstrated knowledge of and experience with managing interior Tenant Improvement and/or Ground-Up construction projects in commercial environments
● Certification in PE, AIA, LEED, or CMAA preferred

● Solid understanding of the construction industry, terminology, codes, documentation, and design disciplines

● Confidence to recommend or accommodate necessary changes using customer input to make improvements and meet/exceed internal and external expectations
● Proven ability to build committed and transparent relationships with various stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, city officials, and internal team members
● Leadership experience with both internal team members as well as subcontractors, vendors, & other external partners
