The Retail Product Leadership team is responsible for defining requirements for our products to driver better value for Retailers. Our Retail strategy to integrate Nielsen market context into Retailer’s operating processes is not only a measurement imperative but increasingly an analytics imperative. As such, a new role is being created to support the development of a Retail pricing application within the connected buy system.

Majority of time will be dedicated to product discovery working closely with technology and UX

Pipeline of product ideas to identify ideas with potential:
Starting from opportunity assessment: what is the problem we want to solve and for whom (personas / use cases)
Cheap and fast tests to validate product ideas using rapid prototypes
Iterative process of ideas with potential to come up with final product ideas to pursue
Frequent cadence of implementation of the ideas which drive value for our products
Culture of learning (many product ideas fail and the ones with potential typically need iteration)
Deep understanding of personas and use cases for our products
Driven by Outcomes (not outputs) – e.g. usage goals
Key Responsibilities:
Works with clients and internal stakeholders to identify and assess the current landscape of pricing applications
Creates a clear and compelling business case validated with data and market perspective to achieve organizational alignment.
Develops the product strategy/roadmap
Owns product definition and requirements, leads engagement with development team to align requirements into development, prioritizes development activities and manages trade-offs.
Effectively communicates across the Retail community, including product leadership, commercial, technical and development on product roadmaps and progress against targets
Represents the product internally and to the marketplace
Key Outcomes:
Product roadmap for scalable Retail pricing analytic solutions to be embedded in the connected buy system
Application is successfully planned with a Version 1 release in 2017
As needed, Pricing Analytics ecco system partners identified with at least one partnership in place in 2017
Product adoption and financial success
Qualifications
Retail domain knowledge specific to Retail business processes and the use of data and analytics within them
Demonstrated capabilities to work with both technical and non-technical staff on product discovery and product implementation
Ability to manage and build relationships with Technology, Data Science, Sales and clients to understand product features and requirements
Ability to manage multiple projects / components in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting and interacting with senior executives
Oriented to outcomes and metrics (e.g., sales, product penetration, market awareness
