The Marketing Procurement Team is responsible for leading fast-paced and dynamic category management efforts related to Yahoo’s marketing, media, and advertising (MMA) services globally. In addition and more importantly, the Marketing Procurement Team is focused on establishing strong and strategic relationships with the broader Yahoo marketing organization to drive improved collaboration and value generation.

Your Day
Position is responsible for leading category management and relationship management efforts within the MMA sub-categories. Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning and executing:
Opportunity Assessment
Deep experience collecting, aggregating, and cleansing disparate sources of data and subsequently analyzing it to draw meaningful conclusions and compelling business opportunities within marketing
Knowledge of marketing and advertising agency: market / landscape, best practices, benchmarks, compensation models, contracting models, etc.
Category Strategy
Prior experience building or supporting sub-category sourcing strategy plans that incorporate analysis and actionable conclusions from: spend, future demand, business requirement optimization, supply market, SWOT, PEST, etc. studies.
Strategic Sourcing
Deep experience leading large and complex stakeholder teams through full 6-8 step strategic sourcing processes that include sub-elements of: data analysis, stakeholder engagement, business requirement optimization (including SLAs, KPIs), collaborative goal definition, market analysis (e.g. RFIs, other research), RFPs, in-depth formal negotiations, contract and scope of work writing, supplier onboarding / off-boarding, etc.
Supplier / Agency Relationship Management
Experience measuring supplier agency / supplier performance against contractual SLAs and implementing performance improvement plans, as necessary, and other continuous improvement projects.
Conducting formal supplier / agency performance management via quarterly and annual reviews, which yield tangible discussions and improvement opportunities
Stakeholder Relationship Management
Experience interfacing and connecting with senior level management in a marketing setting with an ability to speak and comprehend marketing language and concepts
Ability to integrate and persuade key elements of a procurement supplier selection process with the softer touches of a marketing agency selection process, while still delivering tangible results to both organizations and Yahoo as a whole
You Must Have
10+ years Procurement or equivalent Industry or Subject Matter experience. Preferably in “indirect” spend categories for Marketing.
Demonstrated track record of success in negotiation planning and execution, including RFP development & delivery.
Advanced knowledge of standard procurement practices and techniques (such as market knowledge and data analysis, cost management, negotiation and conditioning, supplier management and development, etc.) based on extensive personal experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Experience leading strategy development, for indirect spend categories, in Marketing for our internal needs.
Prefer someone with prior experience either in a Strategic Sourcing group, or embedded within a business unit while executing the same function of sourcing, selection and supplier management.
