The Director is a global role and will be responsible for:
Game-Changing initiatives with strategic SAP Partners –
Individual will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing strategic emerging partner relationships and initiatives/projects.
Individual will develop well thought out business cases for new partnering/ investment decisions, and field alignment strategies.

Individual will bring insights from direct engagement in the partner, industry, market, competitive landscape to generate compelling business strategies and plans in collaboration with key lines of business and pursue innovative opportunities.

Evaluate and Execute Strategic Partnerships – Individual will advise and make recommendations to the Executive team on how to enhance SAP’s presence with strategic emerging partners and large global technology players, in particular, social, supply chain, cloud service providers, and machine learning.

Partnership Incubation & Ramp-up – Individual will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of Partners and will implement a partner coverage model and best practices tools to drive go-to-market. Individual will engage effectively with partners to increase awareness and penetration of SAP’s applications into future partners’ products, drive joint innovation and revenue opportunities.

Governance and leadership – Individual will take a leadership role in ensuring that best in class business management processes are in place, and will identify and implement changes to improve its performance. Specifically, organize complex project work streams and implement status tracking methods to ensure complete transparency to all stakeholders. Make necessary decisions to keep work streams on track. Provide clear, concise oral and written communication to all levels of the organization.

Deal Execution – Individual will work with partners and internal stakeholders to spearhead negotiations for partner agreements and drive SAP executive approval process.

Knowledge, skills and attributes

Knowledge – Strong understanding of SAP portfolio (especially S/4HANA, HANA, HCP, SuccessFactors, Hybris, Concur, and Ariba), partners, markets and competitors. Able to evangelize SAP’s offerings. Strong knowledge of best business practices and financial analysis tools. Strong record of accomplishments with large emerging companies is strongly preferred (examples: Facebook, Google, Amazon, Salesforce, and Workday).

Skills – Capable of leading/influencing a team of high potential individuals. Demonstrated ability to drive change and to influence the organization. Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Demonstrated success in working in a matrix environment.

Attributes – Strategic thinker who is solution oriented and driven to close on opportunities in close cooperation with others. Highly analytical. Brings a high level of integrity and confidence, and is positive and flexible. Strong tolerance for ambiguity; able to focus and execute in a changing environment. Qualifications

Experience – High potential leader with significant business experience (10+ years). 5+ years in a strategic planning, business development or corporate development role.

Experience in evaluating new business development opportunities.

Preferred candidates will have 2+ years of SAP work experience. Management consulting and/or investment banking experience welcomed.

Education – MBA or advanced degree. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Computer Science required.

Language – Excellent conversational and written fluency in English.

Preferred candidates will also be have conversational and written fluency in German.

Other languages are an asset such as Mandarin.

Travel - Ability and willingness to travel on a global basis.
