The Role
This is a leadership role in the Nike Emerging Markets communications planning team. This team works with the Portland-based Nike Emerging Markets Media Director to oversee & lead innovative strategic media planning in markets such as Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Korea, Australia, South East Asia, India & South Africa.
The Strategy and Planning Directors are responsible for leading the function, creating the future strategic direction for Nike communications and uncovering innovation in ground-breaking global campaigns.
Specifically, this role is to lead work across key categories, such as Running, Football or Womens Training. The person will have full ownership of the projects, need to know the details inside- and out and inspire their team to achieve greatness.
The brief for this newly created role is to re-invent & re-imagine media planning for Nike across EM; we need a person who can see further than GRPs, banners & clicks, and who can find new ways of inspiring our audience via un-expected partnerships.

You will also be expected to support where necessary with directing campaign implementation & execution (through the Exchange Hub)
This role will also include connecting to local planning teams, working collaboratively and driving best practices.
You will manage a team of two people (1 manager, 1 exec), with potential scope to grow this as required.
The Person
Ultimately, we need someone who is a proven world-class media planner, with a record of success.
Typically, you will have around 10 years of experience (ideally across multiple markets), but more importantly you will be driven and smart, able to break the rules and be excited by the challenge of working with the world’s #1 sports brand.
We work with a fast-moving client, so you need to be comfortable with that and enjoy working under pressure when game time comes.
The right person will get how digital media fits into a broader communications framework and inherently understand our consumers because they have the same mindset as the target.
We want someone who can dream big, lead a inspiring projects and get the job done. Speaking a second language (such as Spanish, Portuguese or Korean) would be massively helpful.
