You will be responsible to provide visionary leadership, strategic direction and oversight to the management and execution of RBC’s cyber security defense activities globally in order to allow all RBC businesses to operate securely. This is a high-profile role with regulatory and Board level visibility to ensure our enterprise-wide cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC) provides the necessary mitigation to protect RBC against the continually growing and changing cyber threat landscape, and by doing so, protect RBC from financial, operational and reputational loss.

What will you do?
Lead the vision, strategy, direction and operation of RBC’s global Security Operations Centre (SOC) for end to end threat management regarding security intelligence, monitoring and incident response.
Oversee the global development of processes, defensive security tools, vendors and people engaged in the threat management lifecycle over a multi-year horizon.
Management, governance and oversight of a series of initiatives in excess of $35MM.
Lead the development and implementation of our multi-year Cyber Security strategy, framework and roadmap to protect RBC against the growing cyber threat landscape.
Seek out industry trends and organization knowledge to understand alternative approaches / solutions.
Champion and manage execution of large-scale enterprise proactive initiatives to mitigate risks from cyber threats such as online digital fraud, malware, application/infrastructure attacks.
Responsible for global facilitation and response 7/24/365 for all major cyber security incidents impacting RBC.
Build and lead a team that can provide deep level intelligence and operational excellence in order to react quickly to the emerging threat landscape
Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring of SOC staff responsible for the delivery of enterprise cyber security services.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a highly skilled team of Information Security Specialists
10+ years of experience in Information Security and/or other relevant IT functions (including management of technology staff)
Certifications in Information Security (e.g., CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, GREM, GCFA)
Proven facilitation and communication skills at all levels, including senior leaders across RBC
Ability to translate business strategy and articulate business needs.
Nice-to-have
Experience in management and collaboration with a matrix-managed global team
Graduate degree or related experience
Experience in incident management
