The Senior Director, Analytics Technology will partner with the Filmed Entertainment Technology - Marketing, Finance and Strategic Planning groups to shape their data and analytics technology strategy, architecture, and related data solutions. Lead the design and implementation of solutions that enable us to answer critical business questions in a data-driven manner. Working in a “hands-on” collaborative environment, you will facilitate solving business problems through data engineering and development of innovative interactive visualizations and analytics products.

• Partner with and collaboratively engage business clients in scoping and designing analytics solutions aligned with key business initiatives.
• Support the project and product management efforts for executing analytics projects.
• Work with data engineers and analysts to identify data sources for discovery and profiling, and, where necessary, define appropriate logical models that accurately reflect existing business processes.
• Design solutions combining data blending, profiling, mining, statistical analysis, machine learning, and visualizations to better define and curate models, test hypothesis, and deliver key insights.
• Partner with NBCU’s technology domains, related partners, and vendors to build and scale an overall analytical framework supporting data integration, analysis, modeling, visualization, and operational insights.
• Direct engagement with NBCU’s Data and Information Management teams to ensure data quality, related metadata management, and governance of analytical data sources within operational and conformed data repositories.
• Provide perspective on capabilities to deliver solutions including project-related costs, readiness, application design and architecture, and people and process related impacts.
• Help business analysts leverage the appropriate tools, solutions, and/or processes as part of their data mining, profiling, blending, and analytical activities.
• Collaborate with NBCU’s technology domains to lead and ensure development and delivery of analytics solutions.
• Build and lead a team of analytics technology professionals.
• Ensure policies and standards are followed across the organization.
• Deliver services that meet internal KPIs & customer SLAs.
Qualifications/Requirements Qualifications/Requirements
• Undergraduate degree in the field of computer science or engineering, or focus on statistical analysis or equivalent experience required
• At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence and/or Analytics leadership
• At least three (3) years of experience in a business-facing analytical role and proven track record of related success
• Understanding of summary statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, mathematically focused programming languages such as R and Python, and advanced analytics solutions such as SAS, SPSS, and RapidMiner.
• Experience in data mining (structured and unstructured) in an enterprise environment using large, complex, and distributed data sets.
• Ability to quickly understand which data is used by which business processes and what the data means in the context of these specific processes, especially customer intelligence, brand and content engagement, and ad inventory and effectiveness.
• Strong working knowledge of media including broadcast TV, digital, and mobile
• Strong project management and presentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional business and technical teams.
• Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems
• Experience with a large-scale distributed Hadoop environment preferred
• Experience mining large datasets (eg. Web logs)
• Experience in delivering self-service analytics solutions that promote data discovery
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies desired.
