Ordering is at the heart of the e-Commerce platform which runs the largest e-Commerce platform in the world. Our systems orchestrate the creation and processing of orders across hundreds of systems at Amazon to deliver a world-class ordering experience. The systems you will own in this capacity manages every single order created on Amazon websites across the world.

As a leader in the Ordering team you will pioneer new architectural and design choices, invent new features, develop distributed services, and build a dynamically scalable (think cloud computing), rock-solid platforms to enable the next generation of growth for Amazon businesses. We are a fast-paced environment, using agile methodology and lightweight SOA design patterns. We have a team culture that encourages innovation and expect developers and management alike to take a high level of ownership for the product vision, technical architecture and project delivery
Basic Qualifications

- Proven track record in building and leading multiple software teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience in managing managers and building product roadmaps
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex information to senior executives and non-technical leaders
Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Hands-on architectural experience building large scale distributed systems
- Experience with agile project management methodologies, and software engineering best practices
- Track record of building and delivering mission critical, 24x7 production software systems
- Experience hiring and building high performance teams
