You will drive sourcing projects in the area of physical distribution with a focus on Warehousing and Road North America airfreight with the aim to optimize total cost of ownership and create agile and scalable supply chains. You will enable the execution of growth initiatives through the sourcing warehousing and road modalities for businesses. As part of a global team, you will define commodity and sourcing strategies aligned with business programs and requirements. You will lead negotiations teams, be part of implementation projects and build business partner relationships with strategic suppliers to drive an improvement agenda.

As a Strategic Buyer you are responsible for:
· Define sourcing strategies aligned with business requirements, execute strategic tender processes and lead the negotiations process including timelines and facilitate the decision making process. Ensure commercial gatekeeping during implementation.
· Support development of business cases and track savings.
· Optimize the supply base on the basis of total cost of ownership and develop sustainable supplier relationships.
· Manage the business review process with suppliers to ensure that market trends, supplier performance and the future business needs of the sectors are aligned.
· Participate global virtual commodity strategy development team.
· Part of the regional F&D team Americas, with a shared responsibility for integral solutions
· Align with business group or market group supply chain management to ensure successful definition and execution of commodity strategies.
· Ensure effective relationship/stakeholder management towards business/markets.
· Actively support with supply market & process knowledge and expertise in the area of F&D.
· Act as Supplier Manager for the NAM region for strategic supplier , including relationship management, strategy alignment, supplier development.

You will join a team of enthusiastic logistics and procurement professionals within Philips Procurement (Indirect Material & Services, Forwarding & Distribution), responsible for the sourcing of logistics services for the Philips group globally, to provide businesses and markets with a competitive advantage and drive value. You will have close interaction with management of the supply chain and commercial operations across the different Philips businesses in NAM as well as with logistics service providers.

We are looking for
· Master or Bachelor degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
· At least 10 years working experience in one or more of the above fields
· Experience in /with the logistics industry is considered highly relevant
· Analytical, conceptual thinker, pragmatic, strong interpersonal skills, entrepreneurial spirit, with focus on getting things done
· Creative and persistent negotiator, with strategic agility
· Clear and effective networker and communicator at different levels in- and outside our company
