Professional fundraiser responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a targeted portfolio of leadership annual giving prospects. Position typically solicits $5,000- $100,000 and conducts 110 meetings per year with alumni, friends, and parents. The Director leads the team of five Annual Giving Officers and Senior Annual Giving Officers, and oversees the fundraising efforts of the team, including training, prospect management, and giving circles for parents, leadership donors, and young alumni. Lead pipeline development for the team by identifying, cultivating, and stewarding 10 future major gifts prospects and overseeing cultivation strategy and planning for the annual giving officers’ prospects.
Watch: Career Advice She/he will also work closely with other departments within the University Development and Alumni Relations including School based Major Gift fundraisers, ITS, Prospect Development, and other development offices throughout the University to raise the school's local, regional, state, national and international support. The incumbent will also lead special projects at the request and discretion of the Senior Director of Annual Giving. Travel, both local and national, is required.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree.
Required Experience:
5 or more years' professional level experience managing a portfolio of prospects and managing staff.
Preferred Experience:
Experience fundraising in an academic and/or non-profit environment and/or project management.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to meet fundraising goals and effectively interact with donor prospects. Demonstrated management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to take initiative and collaborate with others. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and desktop publishing software applications.
