Candidates for a Vice President role within the Business Economics team should be highly analytical professionals who work well within teams but are self-starters who fully own their work product. Candidates can expect to work directly with senior managers across the firm to provide analysis and modeling in response to adhoc inquiry as well as proactively drive analysis that furthers insight into cost and profitability drivers. Ability to multi-task to deliver well-structured analyses and clearly presented findings, coordinate model/reporting production processes and explore opportunities to enhance data sourcing, model methodologies and advanced technologies is a must.

• Develop, refine and implement allocation methodologies to ensure fully-costed economics are accurately reflected across BlackRock’s universe of product and client portfolios through activities including, but not limited to, data gathering, data and business analysis, model and process design and model staging
• Liaise with counterparts in Corporate, Technology and Business Operations, Investments and the Client Businesses to communicate model findings and work through data nuances
• Address ad-hoc business inquiries through data analysis and financial modeling; synthesize and present findings that provide value-add insights to business partners in a clear and concise manner
• Assist with integrating new economic metrics into BlackRock’s business management and performance accountability reporting tools
• Support BlackRock’s Strategic Product Management (SPM), Strategy and Corporate Development teams through development of product cost metrics, investment team and distribution channel economic contribution profiles and as an engagement partner for inorganic growth initiatives
• Coordinate with team members in New York and India to complete the monthly production cycle for the Business Economics model including data staging, methodology updates and model output validation
• Identify, investigate and resolve data discrepancies; work with partners to implement process
improvements
Knowledge and experience requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree, preference for Finance coursework focus
• 4-6 years in the financial services sector, preferably at a top-tier asset manager or investment bank
• Track record of strong performance including experience on long-term projects
• Demonstrable application of problem-solving, quantitative and analytical skills
• History of effective multi-tasking, expectation setting, cross-functional coordination, proper issue escalation and successful performance under pressure
Skills requirements:
• Financial analysis modeling design and implementation; comfortable with both rapid response delivery and
strategic builds
• Ability to clearly articulate and present ideas, both in written and oral form, to colleagues, senior management and outside audiences
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - advanced/expert skills in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Cognos TM1 preferred, Access or Hyperion Essbase a plus
• Strong organizational, planning and project management aptitude
