VP, Brand Strategy Edelman New York

The VP, Brand Strategy offers executive-level clients innovative solutions to complex business challenges. She/he with work as a strategic consultant with internal and client-side specialists in product design, market research, data science, finance, public relations, and others, and ultimately build on the work of these disciplines to answer a wide range of marketing questions like “What’s the best time to launch a new product” or “Who should we target if we want to be profitable in five years?” or “How can we position a new suite of products to better distinguish our brand from the competition?”
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Critically evaluating a client’s business objectives, and identifying new ways to overcome constraints such as legacy software systems or available human capital
Developing integrated go-to-market strategies for new products or services, and provide briefings and direction to creative teams, agencies, or client partners to effectively execute a cohesive vision
Develop sophisticated learning agendas, in the spirit of “lean” marketing methodologies, that provide insight into more effective targeting, channels, timing and cost implications
Develop integrated marketing measurement frameworks, at a business-level and at short- and long-range cycles, to better inform future decision making
Developing well thought-out research plans to address strategic questions, identifying the right mix of primary and secondary sources, using cost and time-effective tools and trusted partners
Developing data-driven personas and consumer journey maps, with a special focus on how digital tools and experiences can inform these experiences
Defining marketing operational models and advising clients on appropriate team structures and staffing plans, supplemented with the right enterprise technology or agency resources
Working with other Account Planners, New Business and Account leads, clients, and Creatives to develop solutions through market intelligence and simple, meaningful consumer insights
Presenting thoughtful digital business strategies to all levels and stakeholders (including C-Suite)

Desired Skills and Experience
We’re looking for clear, system-oriented thinkers that can distill lots of information down to actionable ideas. While there’s no one-size-fits-all candidate—you might have a background in strategic planning, brand strategy, business operations, business intel, or organizational design, ideally with a digital-minded organization.

Qualifications:
Must have held a strategy or planning position for 8+ years
Degree in Business, Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics or a related field, Masters degree a plus
Experience working with telecom or tech brands a plus
