Senior Product Manager Amazon Seattle

Job Description: • 2-minute read •
We are looking for people who can help bring this vision to reality by working cross functionally through many independently operating teams. We follow agile and lean startup thinking in our product design/implementation approach and believe that successful strategy formulation happens when we can launch, learn in context, and iterate. This means understanding of our customers’ needs/goals and working backwards in developing insight, exploring and defining opportunities, establishing hypothesis, creating tangible design expressions and testing hypothesis by running field tests and using metrics to measure success.

This role is inherently cross-functional. You will work closely with engineering, project management, design, operations, finance, legal, business development, customer service, and executive teams to bring products to market, develop and grow business opportunities, and enhance our existing products and features. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. You will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Some of the key job functions of the Senior Product Manager are:
Drive the overall product and feature roadmap, and manage prioritization and tradeoffs against user experience.
Write product/marketing requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business, design and development teams.
Establish business and pricing models, and metrics and indicators for success.
Measure and analyze existing products and business and pricing models for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to customers.
Leverage consumer insights and competitive intelligence to inform product decisions.
Research and identify new opportunities.
About you:

You think like an entrepreneur. You identify opportunities, put together refined business plans around elegant solutions, sell them to the stakeholders, rally resources and manage cross functional teams to bring them to fruition.
You have the tenacity and stamina to cut through corporate bureaucracy and resistance.
You look at the big picture but are not afraid of diving deep into the details and getting your hands dirty.
You see how humans, systems and machines interact and look for ways to make those interactions as seamless and organic as possible.
You can manage conflicting requirements across a broad set of customers.
You are a change agent and know how to bring change seamlessly to the organization.
You’re a hacker by nature and your thinking is not boxed by any rules. You don’t let challenges limit you and chain you to the status quo.
Relevant experience:

Several years work experience, preferably in an entrepreneurial / high growth setting, with responsibilities including: value proposition definition, business model design, experiment structuring, live prototyping, data analysis, supply chain management and software development.
Experience taking an idea from theory and analysis into a market launch — either as an entrepreneur, member of a start-up team, or as an intrapreneur (e.g. line manager, product manager).
Comfort with communication, working as a collaborator and advisor, and the ability to confidently and credibly share your point of view and expertise.
Ability to work in an ambiguous and dynamic environment and comfort collaborating with teams across varying time zones and cultures.
Ability to take individual ownership to support the collective and make others successful.
Ability to pull together multiple different, and sometimes conflicting, inputs (data, qualitative feedback, hypothesis, etc.) into a common point of view.
Ability to coach and teach others about business and to help infect the community with an entrepreneurial spirit.
