Amazon is seeking a Senior Manager, Category Leader for Equipment for the North America Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Procurement to partner with internal business owners and key stake holders to drive extreme procurement and operational value for Amazon. This role is expected to operate at a strategic level to develop comprehensive category strategies incorporating regional and business specific requirements, global suppliers, innovative and comprehensive business requirements.
The scope of the position covers the Equipment and other areas of spend for including material handling equipment, robotics equipment, conveyors, warehouse storage and related volume driven equipment (carts, etc.) and related services/ maintenance. The Equipment Category Leader will collaborate with Amazon Procurement team to develop long-term strategic plans to maximize global value for Amazon including managing all aspects of the equipment category including executive supplier relationship management, total cost of ownership road maps, value engineering, contract management, lead-time reduction, operational improvements, and maintenance/support. Overall, this Manager responsibility for effectively managing the NACF equipment category team and developing the supply base for the category.
Responsibilities
Development and execution of SOURCING STRATEGY for all equipment categories via full market knowledge, supplier rationalization, TCO cost modeling through transparent supplier relationship, and effective principles to drive efficiency and cost.
Lead the implementation of strategic supplier development plans including maximizing purchasing leverage and improving supplier performance.
Lead key negotiations, implement improved processes and incorporate value engineering activities to achieve cost reduction goals.
Work in close cooperation with regional procurement teams in EU, Asia and WW as well as respective stakeholders in engineering, facilities, safety, quality, transportation/logistics and operations.
Implement sourcing strategies and analyze category details to proactively identify supply base issues to reduce cost, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and exploit emerging opportunities that benefit Amazon
Drive the necessary controls, budgets, policies and procedures to optimize procurement’s contribution to the business plan, effectively utilizing procurement resources.
Drive metrics and data reporting to support the achievement of continuous cost improvement targets.
Develop and drive integrated category supply chain processes that ensure continuous improvements in supplier quality, delivery and cost performance.
Influence supplier’s roadmaps, design, processes, technology decisions and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations.
Develop and implement an integrated supply chain processes that effectively support Amazon’s growing and dynamic business model.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
Manage day to day procurement activities, including forecasts, inventory, PO's as required
Basic Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in supply chain management, engineering related discipline, analytics or finance
• 10+ years of domestic/international procurement or operations experience in a retail warehouse industry and/or experience including category management, large project negotiations or category management.
• Executive level negotiation, supplier management and category management experience.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.

• Master's Degree (MBA or Technical).
