Amazon is seeking an experienced general manager with proven experience in strategy, execution, negotiation, and team development to lead Vendor Management for its highest profile Consumer Electronics business that spans PC and Office. As a Manager of the Vendor Management team (or MVM), you will own the Retail P&L – responsible for leading and developing a high performing 8+ person team of people managers, vendor managers and brand specialists, setting strategy for driving growth, creating strong partnerships with vendors, running day-to-day operations, managing category profitability, and optimizing pricing.

You must be a self-starter and able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level – with a strong attention to detail.
The MVM is responsible for:
· Managing a full P&L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the category, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business.
· Setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.
· Driving strategic negotiations with external vendors.
· Hiring, developing and leading team of People managers and Retail Vendor Managers.
· Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale within the category and across the retail business as a whole.
· Leading cross functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs, including retail systems, site merchandising and in-stock.
· Identifying industry trends that are relevant to customer selection and experience.
· Collaborating on Marketing and Merchandising initiatives.
· Innovating and implementing new customer and vendor programs.
· Representing Amazon when meeting with senior executive teams from top vendors and build long term strategic relationships
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree
· 5-7 years of relevant experience in retail, operations, and/or business management/consulting with a proven history of delivering results
· 3+ years experience in negotiations and vendor management
· 3+ years experience hiring and managing a team
Preferred Qualifications
· MBA with relevant business experience
· Superior analytical and quantitative skills, comfortable with complex financial data
· Track record of delivering results, setting strategy, and running a large volume and high profile business
· Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
· Proven experience leading teams & cross-functional projects
· Highly polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating
· Strong track record of recruiting, hiring and developing talent
· High threshold for working in an ambiguous, fast packed environment – figuring it out and adapting as you go
· Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes
· A willingness to roll up sleeves to get it done
