Description
The Siri Search team is looking for individuals who are passionate about extracting knowledge from big data. Reporting Engineers / Analysts are expected to process and interpret semi-structured or unstructured data into useful summaries / knowledge. Analyze extracted data in the form of reports or ad hoc analysis and build reports and visualizations of analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary to describe or defend analysis of complex, multi-dimensional data. Candidate must demonstrate fluency in python and java as a key responsibility of this role is building and maintaining reporting infrastructure.
Education
BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or EE, or relevant industry experience is required
Additional Requirements
Experience in Java, Python, SQL, PostgreSQL, Hadoop, Hive and/or Impala, Git, Shell scripting is preferred Experience in MongoDB, HBase and other NoSQL is a plus Experience optimizing SQL queries on MySQL is a plus
