Network Analyst, Corporate Network Analytics Google Mountain View

Google's corporate network provides services around the world for Google and its partners. As a Network Analyst you will develop and enhance analytical models for network service usage, application performance, and service capacity planning. You should be experienced with and passionate about using data to drive strategy and network service recommendations. You are able to both engage with senior leaders to design well-constructed analyses and work cross-functionally with analysts, product managers and engineers to effectively deliver actionable results. You are a well-rounded top performer who is able to critically think through strategic issues. You have a high degree of rigor, organization, and discipline to get things done. You are able to communicate as effectively in delivering complex data-driven findings with product managers as you are in discussing machine-learning specifications with engineers.
You're a solution-oriented thinker with a background processing huge data sets, applying analytical rigor and statistical methods and driving toward insights and solutions. You also have experience in statistics, machine learning, algorithm development and optimization.

Responsibilities
Execute sophisticated analyses and advanced modeling that result in actionable recommendations.
Develop meaningful statistical segmentations of Google’s corporate user base and application traffic.
Construct and deliver clear, concise presentations of findings both in oral and written form.
Work well within a small team of dynamic, driven and highly capable individuals.
Provide general guidance on quantitative analysis methods to network engineers and managers.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Statistics or other quantitative disciplines such as Engineering, Applied Mathematics or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with large data sets using statistical software (R, S-Plus, Matlab, or similar) and databases (SQL and NoSQL).
Experience with Python and/or one of (C++, Java, Go).

Preferred qualifications:
MS or PhD in Statistics or other quantitative disciplines such as Engineering, Applied Mathematics, etc.
2 years of related experience, e.g. in areas of data analysis and visualization.
Experience with Large-scale Service Provider or Enterprise network analysis and optimization.
Proven experience working with large, multi-source datasets and driving analyses to actionable conclusions.
Strong organizational and project management skills, including ability to synthesize information to see the big picture while effectively managing details.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the proven ability to present proposals to executives for quantifiable, data-driven solutions.
