Employee Relations Principal Amazon Seattle

The individual will work as a project manager on proactive programs that improve business unit employee relations. The individual, for example, will work proactively to:
· Partner with business leaders and HR teams to create new mechanisms to support employees and share best practices.
· Understand themes from the data analysis teams supporting our employee survey team and designing initiatives that maintain our strengths and improve areas of opportunity.

· Design, collect, and analyze multiple levels of employee feedback
· Design and conduct positive employee relations trainings, with a focus on ensuring new managers operate as seasoned managers in terms of engaging their employees.
· Partner to engage in continuous improvement in communication vehicles and practices
· Analyze, diagnose, design, and revise people programs, policies, and practices to sustain positive ER.
The individual also will work reactively on critical issues that are crisis-oriented, claims requiring investigative action, or escalations from Senior Leadership or HR. These matters are ones that typically can only be successfully completed with limited time. Balancing time between projects and crisis-response is a critical component for success in the position.

The position reports to the Director, ER within Consumer Human Resources team at Amazon.com. The role will be based in Seattle, WA. This is a full-time position that may require occasional travel, up to 15% of the time over the course of the year to the various Consumer locations.

Basic Qualifications

BA/BS degree. Master’s degree considered a plus.
Strong analytical thinker, data driven and creative in approach to driving positive employee relations and change
Reputation for being a good leader and strategic partner to the clients
Known for high judgment, bias for action, and demonstrated ability to deliver results.
At least seven years direct experience in employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law with an emphasis on labor and employee relations work
Solid understanding of federal and state employment & labor laws.
Experience in designing and delivering successful training programs
Proven attention to detail; extremely organized
Able to pass a comprehensive background and reference check
