Director of Business Management MSF Redmond

The Director of Business Management will lead development of the MSF Rhythm of the Business (planning, budgeting and reporting), project management, internal communications, scorecards, and culture initiatives. In addition, they will oversee our worldwide marketing vendors and lead strategic special projects.

• The Director of Business Management will work on several diverse projects at the same time, provide management with insight to operational and financial performance via scorecards and metrics, and drive strategic decisions.

The Core Job Responsibilities

• Business Insight & Planning:
• Direct annual strategic planning process and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) off-sites

Business Operations and Execution:

• Lead the Fiscal Year planning: process, methodology, templates, making presentations, coordination and partnering with participants and stakeholders
• Plan, coordinate and execute on Rhythm of the Business: Mid-Year Review, monthly SLT meetings, vendor governance meetings, advisory board meetings, regional business and pipeline reviews, functional reviews, strategic initiative charter reviews
• Direct MSF participation in the annual team connections event: agenda, schedule and logistics, working with the MSF Business Administrator

Communications:

• Direct creation of MSF portion of strategic meetings (MYR, All Hands, MFAB, business reviews) and business memos (WWLP PRISM and WWSMM memos)
• Direct our corporate-level marketing vendors and efforts
• Lead development of other team communications


Grow People / Create Culture:

• Direct internal management development program and MSF people agenda
• Manage the portfolio of people recognition programs (e.g Quarterly Awards, Spot Awards, Peer-to-Peer)
• Direct Organizational Health (MS Poll) / Our Aspire-to Culture work groups to improve organizational health and employee satisfaction based on feedback


Desired Work Experience:

• Seasoned business professional with demonstrated skills to influence and impact groups inside and outside of Worldwide Licensing & Pricing. This leader must have a blend of business and people skills in order to successfully build highly effective teams and engagements across diverse scope areas of business management.
• Good field and Redmond connections across Sales, Segment, and Business groups in MS
• Demonstrated success in managing real-time operational programs that require both strong planning skills and the ability to react quickly to changing circumstances and formulate appropriate action plans
• 10+ years of Microsoft and/or industry experience in software/ consulting companies/financial management

Qualifications:

• BA required, MBA is a plus; or equivalent experience
• Strategic thinker and operationally savvy
• Outstanding analytical and business judgment skills across a range of disciplines
• Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity
• Proven track record of influencing positive outcomes without direct authority
• Excellent project and program management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven cross group collaboration
• Prior marketing experience is a plus
