The Amazon Media Group is seeking a talented Sr. Product Manager – Display Ads Monetization to join the Yield team. In this role, you will own pricing and overall monetization of Amazon’s Owned and Operated (O&O) properties; and will be responsible for defining, implementing and monitoring revenue optimization strategies to maximize monetization across Amazon’s O&O properties. You will work closely with data scientists, sales, operations, and engineering teams in delivering and enhancing our portfolio of ad products.
You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. Most importantly, you will be challenged to think big about new and unique ways regarding our monetization strategies.
The right candidate will possess a strong product and program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large products and projects, will have background in digital advertising, and ideally will have a well-rounded background in current web and mobile technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.
As a Product Manager, you will be 100% customer focused, understanding their needs and requirements, plus anticipating future trends that will serve their needs. You will also be excellent at driving results, being able to coordinate large, multi-functional projects on-time, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence and leadership are essential to success in this role. You will be data-driven and analytical. You constantly strive to expand our understanding of the metrics that drive our business and growth aspirations. Lastly, your communication skills – both verbal and written – are excellent, and you will be able to clearly communicate at all levels in the organization, including senior management.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of professional experience in online advertising yield management, web analytics, business analysis or comparable analytics position with 2 or more of those years being post MBA
A proven track record of delivering initiatives from conception through completion on time, within budget and on or beyond scope.
Excellent oral and written communication skills – with both technical and non-technical individuals;
Ability to gather and analyze data for reporting technical and business metrics
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a high pressure environment and able to adjust to multiple demands
Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically.
Passionate and knowledgeable about new and emerging mobile and internet-based media and its technology
Demonstrated ability for being detail-oriented, self-motivated and driving follow-through on projects
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability participating in milestone driven projects
Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams
Ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment
Experience solving complex and large-scale pricing problems and applications is a strong plus
Post Graduate Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance with a focus on quantitative analysis
Experience with statistical analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, time series analysis, data mining, financial analysis, dynamic pricing, demand modeling, game theory and customer/product segmentation
