Business Strategy and Direction:
·Know, understand and help drive the W&W sectors strategic direction and how it links to the central technology organization.
Participate in developing the business strategy as it pertains to Product Development and Technology Road Maps and Deployment.
Determine potential acquisition targets which fit the strategy and enable growth, and present to BU and management for consideration.
Provide regular updates to the sector BU team and management on the execution of the strategy.
Engage directly, as required, with customer and external design teams, to further these engagements and develop product roadmaps.

Program Management:
Analyze and recommend optimal solutions for resourcing Product Development and Technology deployment initiatives through a combination of partnerships, consulting engagements and utilization of internal design resources.
Manage creation and submission of technology project proposals and quotations.
Provide feedback to peers and management on project performance, costs, and risk.

TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical and program management responsibility for several multi-discipline engineering teams composed of technology partners, consultants and internal design engineering teams when they support W&W projects. Resourcing and management of internal design resources will be achieved by working with the relevant design services management teams.
Ownership of project/technology cost performance and technical deliverables for product & technology development and deployments in the W&W sector, while staying connected to technology projects/capabilities in the other Nypro sectors.
Manage the ongoing planning, budgeting, and performance of the product development and technology deployment programs.
Understand and translate the trends (industry, regulatory, product and technology), value chain, and unmet customer needs/value innovations/voice of customer, competitive landscape and key customer directions into actionable and strategic activities to dive both incremental and disruptive differentiating capabilities and new business opportunities within the W&W sector.
Develop and maintain deep technology expertise in relevant industries and markets including identifying and monitoring relevant ongoing technology innovations outside of Nypro and Jabil.
Clearly understand all operational elements of Jabil’s and Nypro’s business.
Marketing and sales capability for services, products, and IP.
Understanding of the EMS business model.
Provides direction and strategy on design and development activities to improve, modify or design new equipment, products and processes for the Nypro organization.
Develops, determines and implements policies, procedures and programs.
Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Development and Performance Management:
Identify Nypro & Jabil product development and technology strengths relative to sector/division initiatives and establish clear strategies to leverage and improve these capabilities by working directly with the design services management team.
Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine design services results (i.e. operational and cost metrics, results against project timelines, quality of deliverables, teamwork with technology partners & consultants, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, organizational development goals).

Solicit ongoing feedback from peers and team members on team member’s contribution to the product development and technology deployment teams. Provide feedback to technology services management for ongoing coaching and counseling to team member based on feedback.
Express pride in technology services team and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.
Provide input to technology services management for team member evaluations professionally and on time.
Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.
Strategy - Translate market /customer inputs into strategic plan
The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to think and act creatively and to identify new innovative business opportunities.
He/She will have demonstrated the ability to rapidly evaluate trends, markets, customer requirements, and industry info, prioritize opportunities and develop a comprehensive strategic business plan.
He/She will have the ability to listen to and communicate with customers at a high strategic and technical level and understand how technology & capabilities can affect customer unmet needs in their products and roadmaps.

Technical Skills – Using technology as a competitive advantage
The candidate must be able to technically understand products and customer product roadmaps, critical usage scenarios, issues and bottlenecks and translate into a product and process technology plan for Jabil by leveraging technical and engineering resources.
The candidate will know how to leverage global resources by investigating, forming relationships, and negotiating with potential partners and alliances, and will have experience in developing various initiatives.

Communication:
Provide communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information inside and outside Strategic Development.
Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.
Ask questions; encourage input from team members.
Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Excellent communication skills
Requires in-depth knowledge of the industry/functional area, global business strategies, and company’s goals.
Advanced knowledge of operational concepts, practices and procedures (e.g., business development, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.)
Detailed knowledge of industry and Nypro/Jabil’s business allows for development of innovative concepts and promotion of new ideas.
Proven negotiation skills
Leadership/people-management skills
