The Director of Search Product Management is responsible for the product vision, end to end execution, priorities and roadmap for Job Search at Glassdoor. Job Search is at the heart of Glassdoor’s product experience. As consumers often come to Glassdoor to research companies, job search is the flywheel that fuels their experience and helps them discover new job opportunities that they may love.
You will need to understand at a detailed level how our job search engine works, leveraging past experiences with search and recommendation systems. Your team will be responsible for aggregating job listings through a combination of feeds, scraping, and content partnerships, with a focus on collecting data that is well-structured, highly accurate and very fresh. The job listings are then fed into a job search platform.
You will be responsible for partnering with data science and engineering, using advanced information retrieval and machine learning strategies to optimize the search results for users.
This is a hands-on role including brainstorming new opportunities, defining roadmaps, writing user stories, owning & analyzing metrics, presenting to our executive leadership and working closely with engineering to ensure execution.
In parallel, you will be a partner and advocate for the end to end job seeker experience on the site. In a nutshell, you will have the opportunity to flex every product manager muscle you have while working with our world-class engineering and marketing teams.
Responsibilities
Own the vision and product roadmaps for the job aggregation (aka crawler) and search teams
Lead the execution of the roadmaps in partnership with world-class engineering and data sciences teams.
Create, own & deliver results for key search product metrics and goals, identifying a plan to deliver business objectives based on feature ideas for achieving them.
Execute on the go to market strategies with close collaboration with product marketing, sales, client services and data sciences teams.
Coach the junior members of the product management team and mentor them to become great product leaders.
Increase customer satisfaction and engagement by building new jobs products to help employers fulfill their talent acquisition needs effectively and efficiently.
Increase jobs revenue and the number of customers who click, discover and apply to jobs on Glassdoor. Optimizing for a balance of delighting employers and job seekers by improving search algorithms and developing innovative features that address the unmet needs in the marketplace.
Create product requirements and write user scenarios that define specifications and tasks needed by engineering to implement new features.
Qualifications
BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related technical field
At least 7-10 years of experience with successful online consumer or enterprise product launches within fast-paced, agile environments
Experience working on consumer search ranking or recommendation systems
Demonstrated experience with data, analytics, and/or online monetization.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
Experience directly managing and growing a team of product managers
Hands-on experience in requirements analysis, writing user stories, and wire-framing UI concepts
Strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative skills with data-driven approach to decision-making
Experience working with a/b testing infrastructure and driving insights analysis
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet aggressive deadlines
Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
Confidence to interact with team members across all departments and levels of the organization
