Director Pre Sales Engineering Flex San Jose

Flex Communications Infrastructure and Enterprise Compute (CEC) is seeking a Director, Pre-Sales Engineering to join the Converged Infrastructure 3.0 (Ciii) business unit with responsibility for supporting sales productivity and deal flow by securing the “technical close” in complex solutions.
General Purpose:
As a Pre-Sales Engineer you will serve as the principal consultant to analyze and develop enterprise technology solutions in large/complex environments, and collaborate with sales, service, engineering, and technical support resources to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs, and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision-makers.
Required Qualifications:
Supports Business Development and Sales to secure design wins and assists in joint sales calls. Meets assigned targets for profitable sales growth in assigned product lines, market areas, channel, or teams supported.
Proactively scopes technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers’ met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for both the customer and the business unit.
Assists in planning sales strategy; collaborates within the business unit and with the field to prioritize, facilitate and direct the use of resources. Works with Sales managers to assess the sales pipeline to ensure appropriate and timely utilization of solution integration and design support.
Establish close technical relationship with customer accounts, build personal relationships to facilitate rapid resolution of customer issues and promote the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Special projects and duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Experience:
10+ years of relevant work experience in sales engineering role that focuses on business-to-business, large/strategic customer segments, or a record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a comparable sales role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment.
Candidate should have good awareness of the market dynamics and products in highly competitive enterprise and cloud computing market segments.
Candidate has experience in end user customer environments, in hands-on or management positions for cloud, server and storage, or network technologies
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to travel to customer locations, including occasional international travel.
Education/Training:
B.S. / B.A. required, M.S. / MBA preferred or related field equivalent.
