Director Engineering Schneider Electric La Vergne

Direct management of engineering resources in USA, and Canada. Responsible to execute technical responsibilities within budget, and roadmap of the Power Monitoring and Gateways Line of Business
Key Responsibilities
• Manage LoB Engineering teams for Nashville and Victoria locations
• Ensure design, verify and validate of new products is done in an optimal manner.
• Support and lead the technical co-development and collaboration efforts inside and outside Schneider.
• Manage continuous engineering : Quality Value Engineering, obsolescence, quality and product adaptation action plans
• Ensure PMP and PEP processes are followed for design engineering activities
• Boost innovation and IP
• Ensure design engineering best practices are applied : Design for quality, design for manufacturing, DFMEA, PFMEA, ECSQ etc...
• Lead technology architects to boost platforming and technology bricks approach and to ensure future trends (competitive, techno, customer) are identified and accounted for in all designs
Ensure technical competencies are planned and available per the strategic directions.
• Ensure technical depth exists in all areas relevant to long term strategic topics.
• Provide technical support level 4
• Ensure team is optimally balanced for competencies, development roadmap execution, efficiency, cost efficiency, flexibility.

Travel :
As this role requires coordination and management of multiple global sites, it is necessary to be available for travel to each site on a regular basis. In between, irregular hours are required for many project, business and technical topics.
Location :
The position is expected to be located in Nashville Tennessee, with frequent travel to Victoria and other sites as needed.

Language Skills:
Strong English fluency. Working French knowledge is an advantage
