Great opportunity for a Director of Engineering in Houston to support a leader in the oil and gas industry. This person should have fifteen plus years of experience in a Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering environment and job experience at the department management level.
Manage assigned Engineering Project including technical development, personnel assigned, schedule and interface to other company operations.
Bring Engineering Projects to conclusion in a timely manner and in accordance with specified schedules.
Lead in redesign of identified products with the goal to meet specified cost and performance objectives.
Work with and assist manufacturing to optimize processes to improve quality and increase margin.
Support manufacturing on a day to day basis with technical assistance, trouble shooting and problem solving.
Assure that all procedures and processes are compliant with applicable standards.
Conduct and lead cross organization meetings in support division goals.
Conduct project reviews to assure project objectives are being met.
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
Education, Skills and Experience:
BS in Electrical Engineering required or discipline complementary to instrumentation design and development.
MBA or MS-MOT highly preferred.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS: Engineers, Technicians, Drafters, Contract Engineers.
Works with minimal supervision from written or oral instructions.
Requires high degree of individual judgment and initiative.
Strength in analytical problem solving is a prerequisite.
Understanding or knowledge of software development and languages required.
Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
