Director BPO Indirect Procurement Avaya Durham

The Global Indirect Sourcing Organization is seeking a Director for Business & Professional Services. The individual must be capable of interacting with the Senior and Executive Management to support a broad category of professional services and outsourcing engagements. Extensive experience with, and understanding of, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is essential in this role which is responsible for the full cycle of sourcing and supplier management for these services globally. This individual will report to the Sr. Director of Global Indirect Procurement and the successful candidate will have accountability for management of more than $250M in services related spend.
The Primary Roles & Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Apply an intense focus on BPO and quickly assess Avaya’s current landscape.
Develops a business management system and strategic plan that delivers quantifiable benefits from cost reduction actions, improvements in supplier performance (SLAs), and ensure provider engagements are consistent with business needs
Manages strategic activities related to sourcing, supplier evaluation and award, establishing procurement practices and ensures cost, quality and delivery performance are met by suppliers
Directly negotiates, or supports team members in the negotiation of global agreements for a variety of services; reviews and amend existing agreements; manages contract life-cycle
Drafts appropriate contractual terms to achieve Avaya’s business, financial and contract objectives while minimizing or eliminating risk exposure to Avaya
Responsible for the scoping, design, construction, and implementation of global strategic procurement projects
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and objectives
Meets with all levels of senior management to gain project support, funding, and strategic direction
Ensure excellence in supplier performance and drives improvement in business processes while leading cross functional teams for implementation of selected strategic or corporate initiatives
Ensure compliance with Avaya policies, procedures and directives including adherence to contract terms and approval processes
Experience:



Strong understanding of BPO practices and providers
10+ years of related business experience, specifically in managing business process outsource engagements
Extensive knowledge of commercial contract terms and conditions and related contracting process
Involvement in the development of SLA’s, SOW’s and defined deliverable agreements
Experience operating in a global business environment, managing teams and suppliers in multiple geographies


Demonstrated Skills:

Strong negotiation and integration skills needed to influence cross-functional resources to meet common goals
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills especially capable of interacting with and presenting to senior management
Strong analytical skills, including financial analysis
Anticipates and identifies complex business needs and recommends solutions to complex problems
Education:

Minimum Bachelor's degree, MBA Preferred
