We are seeking a Senior Director of IP Standardization to focus on driving technology standardization efforts in both traditional standard bodies, such as IETF as well as open specification forums like ONF. In addition, this Leader will drive IP and SDN technology strategy alignment with open source SDN controller programs such as Open daylight (ODL) and Open Networking operating system (ONOS), customer use-cases. In addition, this leader will be facilitating both internal and customer account teams in proof-of-concept development; as well as providing support to external thought leadership in alignment with the vision and strategy of the group.
Driving technology standardization and help secure Huawei’s position as a thought leader in the evolution of networks, focusing on SDN, network API, cloud networking & network virtualization, etc.
Driving Network Business Unit’s standardization strategy and activities in support of company technical strategy, build a strong IPR portfolio, and pursue leading position in international key SDN standards developing organizations, especially ONF and IETF.
Leading team to develop a cohesive SDN architecture, specifications, use cases and solutions for carrier which can be used as a foundation for product evolution strategy.
Leading team to co-develop and support proof-of-concepts (in collaboration with internal stakeholders, customers and technology partners) to validate SDN architecture proposals and use-cases for best-in-class innovative solutions.
Proactively understand technology and market trends, and represent Huawei at key industry events.
Leading customer interactions and interface with partners and service providers to build Huawei IP Networking leadership.

Requirements:
15+ years experience in telecommunication.
Proven track record and industry reputation as leader in network technology, especially in IP & SDN technical areas;
Solid understanding of carrier customer business, technology adoption patterns and operations models; Ability to discern customer requirements and develop new solutions.
Demonstrated ability to envision new network solution that meet consumer needs and find new business spaces, such as SDN, Cloud Networking, Open Networking, etc;
Experience in leveraging different teams in a large corporation
Experience in collaboration with tier-1 carriers, good communication channels with key customers
Experience of research and standards strategy planning and standards development management
Education: BS or equivalent, MS/PhD preferred
Proven leadership ability
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences, great presentation skills
Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
